AAC commissioner Mike Aresco said the league’s MBB tourney will most likely return to Orlando in ‘18 after heading back to Hartford in ’17.

Aresco said Orlando could also be one of the cities bidding to host the #AAC Tourney in the future ‘19 and beyond.

There’s really no good place to have this thing.

@DanWolken. FedEx Forum in Memphis makes sense but they won't do it.

Not until there’s a new coach and a different attitude about the local program.

Sorry, but at the risk of incurring the wrath of Fishy, I have to say that Wolken is an unbelievable loser.

What kind of comment is that? "There's really no good place to have this thing?" This is a conference with Top 25 media markets and densely populated cities. Moving it out of Orlando has nothing to do with the city not wanting it, it has to do with the NCAA being there next year.

This is a guy who from Day 1 seems to have resented the fact that The American even exists. He's been down on us and every program in the conference.

Sorry, rant over, I just can't stand the guy.

I think some of us resent the fact that the American exists... I'm just saying - there would be a good place to have this thing if half or more of the schools were within a reasonable drive's distance to said place.

There would be a good place to have this thing if anyone in this conference actually cared enough about this conference to actually show up to the tournament games.

So that leads to Temple. Not sure why they aren't looking at Philly.

Expansion has been an ongoing embarrassment for the ACC. On Tuesday, during those thrilling games involving the bottom four seeds, they curtained off the upper deck of Verizon Center to try to hide the emptiness of the building. (The crowd was announced at 7,000, which may have been counting by twos.)

On this episode of LSL, the guys spoke to ACC/Fox Sports South Network’s Wes Durham (54:20) about the ACC basketball season and the potential for an ESPN ACC Network and other possibilities for revenue. UofL Board of Trustee member Dr. Bob Hughes (1:22:00) joined us to give us some insight on the Board’s purpose and where all the drama came from last week.

We spoke to Wes Durham of the ACC Network/Fox Sports South on our program tonight. He told us that if there is no ACC Network agreement by July 1st, that 'reportedly' ESPN would owe the ACC $45 million.
PODCAST IS HERE

Wes mentioned something called "cross-platform branding", meaning that whatever Raycom produces it would fall under the 'ACC Network' umbrella.

Very good point, would he really rather play UConn in football or LSU, Bama, Florida

The genius in Boren is that his motive in all of this could very well be to help facilitate the implosion of the Big 12 and blame Texas as he joyfully glides into the SEC for real money.

That's not the correct analogy... It is, would he rather play UConn or Mississippi St, Vanderbilt and Kentucky? You can't compare us to the top of the SEC.

Alternative view. Would he rather big a fish in a big pond or a small fish in a bigger pond? I think it's the former.

It would still be the latter.

Then let's cut to the chase and create a 32 team NFL version of college football. The money would be huge. While they are at it, make attending classes optional. For those choosing to not be student athletes, pay them the equivalent scholarship value above room and board in cash.

You both mistake his intent in all of this. Money from athletics is just a part of it. Ask yourself, would he rather promote the University of Oklahoma to HS kids in Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee or Connecticut and NY (Westchester at a minimum)? Boren is embarking on the journey UConn started already. He wants it to be seen academically as a destination school, more like a Michigan or Wisconsin or Texas.

Boren "gets it" at a level far beyond these talking heads sports imbeciles, who keep thinking that this is just about football. The Big Ten schools can already attract kids from our region, although UConn in the league would help them. The Big XII? This part of the country has the top performing high schools and plenty of money to spend on what will look like cheap tuition even out of state.

That's what big time football is already.
