Jalen Returning for Senior Season

Great news. I hope with a better supporting cast and a better coaching staff, he won't be needing to grind out 40 minutes a game. Just being able to get a blow during a game should boost his effectiveness.

I'm seeing a very real possibility of going into this year with only 3 guards though. If Vital leaves, and Gilbert isn't able to come back physically, that will leave Jalen, Smith, and BA. That's thin back court.

With Vital's latest move, does Hurley look for another guard? Not sure how this works. I think Vital's got until the 30th to decide?

There is absolutely no way CV is leaving. Our roster appears to be complete for 18-19. The recruiting continues for the following year. I get giddy looking at 247 these days. We are in many great players. Onward!

Are Smith and B Adams 1s or 2s? What is the name of the other newby? and is he a 4 or 5?

If Vital leaves, it'll be tricky. Do you pick up another grad transfer? If so, you lose three guards to graduation in 2019-20, including, probably, you're starting twosome (Smith & Jalen.) Do you therefore take a chance on a 3-star, seeing him as you're 5th guard for the next four years? Even if Vital returns, does he leave next year? Increasingly looks like recruiting two top-drawer guards is a requirement for next year.
And this assessment summarizes the extreme importance Vital's return has on the program. In addition to his being the blue collar Husky many of us appreciate, he provides continuity in a program that has had too many disruptions recently.

Jalen is a pioneer. Hes gonna bring us from the bottom to the top. Legendary.

I wonder if he would enter the draft to at least get feedback if he didn’t have this minor wrist injury.

But so happy he’s returning. We suck next year if we are without him regardless of how good the coaching is.

Why was all this necessary?

Considering borges and the rest of the heard kept saying "there is yet to be an announcement" and considering he's buds with Corey porter, he might as well have created this. Also its like the norm with announcing things today.

Super news have a feeling Hurley will drill into him what he needs to do to be who he can be. If he's coming back he's all in with the new coach i'm sure they discussed the plan. Great stuff.

Knowing a little about how JA feels toward and his relationship with KO, I would be a little surprised if he came back but when he showed up to Coach Dan Hurley's press conference I was guessing that he probably would at least consider returning.
I am overjoyed that he has reportedly made his decision known and will wear a Husky uniform for his senior year. The kid is a warrior and I consider him a very very good college guard.
His performance in Hawaii two years ago still amazes me as did his play that whole season. There was way too much pressure on him last season the minute AG went down again and it will be great to see him operate with a full complement of guards.
Welcome back - officially JA

I'd be very happy with a Regular Season or Conference Tourney Championship.
He was referring to the National Championship in Minneapolis. Let us see how the roster shakes out moving forward folks. A few key moves at the poker table and in a nonosecond the unthinkable becomes a reality. WE clearly are not title contenders right now. BUT it is not May 1st yet! Rosters are in flux and heroes are in the initial stages of being built.

I make us the favorites in the AAC.

We need good fortune as it relates to health, unlike the last couple years. But we should be able to compete for the AAC title considering the talent on the roster.

I rather enjoyed it. It's Jalen's way of saying he has fully bought into Hurley, loves being a Husky, and expects a big season for his University and himself.

I thought it was great.

I was worried that he looked at next year and wasn’t ready to carry the entire team on his shoulders again.

I say it will be a WAR at the top of the AAC. A battle of the ages.

We have a fighting chance w/4Hunnid:

Top 4 are clear: UCF, UCONN, Memphis & Cincinnati in no particular order.

On the 4th of July lets revisit this and make our final picks. The teams in Caps are my favs right now. Keep an eye on Memphis and how they fill their last ship.

We still have flaws but having guards with a handle will help a lot.

He says he would like to bring another championship to Uconn. Now in our current situation youd think its nothing but wishful thinking and heck it may be but after what i saw in `11 and `14 i know better than to count this this program out before its out.

Unlike many on this board, I didn’t think last year’s talent, taken in isolation, was that inferior, especially within the AAC. The big problems were defensive and offensive strategies/execution and player usage - making players do things that they couldn’t do while simultaneously not taking advantage of things they could do.
