BasketballRecruiting com - Where's five-star Hamidou Diallo headed: Kentucky or UConn?

"
PREDICTIONS

Bossi: Kentucky
Diallo has established a tremendous relationship with Ollie and UConn, but at the end of the day the situation at Kentucky appears to be a perfect fit for him.

Evans: Kentucky
While it has seemed that UConn and Ollie have had the upper hand at various times in the process, it looks like the CEO of Kentucky basketball, John Calipari, will have the last laugh in this one."
This literally feels like these guys are using a 50 mile long stick and just repeatedly poking me from Bristol.

I'm not sure how many times I can say this...THESE GUYS KNOW NOTHING!!!

Sure, the buzz is UK. Of course it is! UConn is in a huge slump this season and UK is typical UK. Being short-sighted like everyone seems to be, it makes sense. The fit at UConn is a better one. If he wants to play this yr (there is still time) he would have all the minutes he wants. If he waits until next yr, UConn will be healthy and reloaded. He'd obviously have a ton of minutes on a very good team. UK is honestly a bit unknown. They're going to lose their whole current team. So they'll have a bunch of guys come in that may or may not be as good as advertised. It would not shock me if Richards, Alexander, et al stumble. It's happened before. See the Harrison twins, Marcus Lee, Alex Poythress, etc.

I know it's not them saying for sure it'll be UK, but I'm not quite sure how they can know, when a lot of what I've heard is that HD doesn't quite know yet! He's got 26 hours to figure it out. I really hope UConn, but I have no clue.

Some of these guys risk their whole careers by quoting a source "extremely close" to Diallo. If they describe that person as extremely close, I am thinking it is a family member.

If it's a family member, and the kid chooses UConn, then there is a major egg on someone's face. They have to write an article explaining the person who was extremely close flat out lied to them.

Or they will just never mention it again and move on.

HAMI is a guy who wants the limelight, but so far he has been true to his word from the beginning. For HAMI to have been swayed by Calimari can only be explained by 2 things: he either had no intention of playing in college until scouts told him that he wouldn't be a lottery pick this year or he always wanted to go to Kentucky. No other explanation makes sense.
HAMI seems like a loyal kid who wants to blaze his path and not be a follower like he would be at Kentucky. Also, Ollie and UCONN should try to use their influence and employ certain top recruits family members somewhere in the state or in the city if all else fails.

P.S. HAMI COMMIT BRING HAMMER TIME BACK TO STORRS!

We are now 24 hours away from being 20 minutes away from the announcement.

Shall we head to Def Conn 2?

Shhhh - he has his anti-UConn agenda to drive home.

Me "Anti UConn" - if you only knew what I am doing?

But then again, you're the dude that takes shots at Jim Calhoun all the time. I am in good company. Now back to the task at hand.

LOL. Calhoun owed his employment at the university to certain people in my camp. By the transitive property, you owe your years of sniffing the boots of NBA players to my people as well.

You perceiving me as saying his age and health make him less likely to be as effective as he was in his prime? That's because you sport a pair of bizarre emotional blinders prohibiting you from engaging in any honest discussion on the issue. It's why you spend most of your time here taking potshots at the current staff, the athletic department, and the university administration. You are a dude who is obsessed with Calhoun, not a UConn fan.

I read your post and quite frankly I don't even understand your point. Seems like you are saying Calhoun owes his success to you and your bros. That's really nuts - Confirmed.
Say what you want - I can't say enough good things about Calhoun! As for KO - I consider him a friend. I don't have time for your shade now - bigger things to do.

What a shock.

The point he was making is that you aren't a fan of UConn; you are a Calhoun fanboy. You continue to follow UConn because the basketball team is his baby.

Not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that.

Note that I don't completely agree with him. IMO you show up on the football forum more than a pure JC fanboy would.

I am going to have to shutdown for the night on BY but seriously I don't honestly know how I would separate Calhoun from this program - he built it - the rest of us can only maintain it or screw it up.

What chief is doing is pretending he's going to NYC to talk to hami. I'd bet my bottom dollar. If hami manages to commit to UCONN it's because of chief and he'll be a godsend once again.

Dear lord

Help me out
When Calhoun said one was a BSer but did not know it and the other BS and knew it but BS anyways - which one was Pitino and which one was Calipari?

Dear lord
If you can pull it off - turning the tide is all yours

Aren't they one in the same?

Some of us are third-generation fans whose families have been attending games since Hugh Greer was the coach. We were watching Dee Rowe in the Yankee Conference and moaning about Perno squandering talent while you were hobnobbing it on Huntington Ave. We were here long before you were aware of UConn having a basketball team, and we will stick around long after Glen Miller drives you away.

You have this strange thing with people "not showing Calhoun enough respect", like Bob Diaco offering pizza at a basketball game, or me repeatedly calling Calhoun the greatest coach of all time multiple times yet refusing to admit he can walk on water and bench-press 600 lbs simultaneously. It's to the point where doing anything -- anything -- slightly different from Calhoun's way is "screwing the program up". That's not rational, and neither are you. Have fun continuing to talk bad on the program.

No he cant do that.

But Ive seen him chew gum, spit, grab a player by the collar and drop an on a ref in one second lapse.

#JCSuperman

You omitted "waving off an assistant's suggestion to go into a 2-3 zone."

Why do you hate Calhoun so much?

Sorry, I'm not like Jeffery Dahmer;)
What a great idea that was leaving ships open and giving them to walkons - who if ever they would be used in non garbage minutes it would be this year.
Aren't you out of pocket again?

I know your theory on filling ships. My point is that going after HD cost us nothing
