Which just goes to show that none of the insiders know a damn thing until the kid himself makes the move. Two weeks ago he was a lock to play at UConn, and two days ago he was a lock to play at Kentucky, and now he's not going to play at all, right?

Predicting what a teenager will do is brutally hard. Predicting what a teenager will do when there's fame and millions of dollars on the line?

As a wise man once said, "take it with a grain of salt."

LOL so kid tells KO he's pretty much coming to UConn for .5 or 1.5 but just going to fulfill his visit to UK first, then Cal convinces him not to play this semester.

Give credit to Cal, you never want him being the last one speaking to your likely recruit - kids just gush over whatever he tells them.

He couldn't come here for the rest of the semester to practice?? Suit up for us next year?? I know were thin, but he may want to practice on a suck team, then perform when we are more up to speed next season.....

Agree 100%. But on the official visit Hami basically gave a verbal commit to KO. And is now backing out of it. Insiders had good reason to say he was 100% UConn. But things change

Cal can adjust his line about how if he wants your recruit he's taking him to also include if he wants your recruit to not play at all, he'll convince him not to play at all.

The writing was on the wall when he didn't commit quickly after auburn and kencucky visit . If he had designs on playing second semester you move quick to get practices under belt and learn system. Every day it dragged out was a day closer to pointing to enrolling as a practice player/student.

To give everyone and idea of what KO was thinking. On the official to UCONN they were talking about classes he was going to take, and uniform numbers. Everyone including Diarra thought he was coming. No one in the program saw this coming

If Hamidou doesn't come here he was playing Ollie and the rest of the team for the past year +. It's fine being critical of Ollie but not in this case, his recruitment has taken on the look of a clown show.
THIS!! ^^^ it's his decision to go wherever...but dont hang on campus all the time and hang with players and coaches and lead them on...that's just BS.

What would be the difference between doing that here and UK?
He would get 25+ minutes a game here. He would get approx. 0 at UK this season because they don't have a scholarship.

Maybe he was turned off after giving this "silent verbal" everyone knows about once he saw us lose to 3 terrible teams in a row.

So next year we will have no Diallo/true shooting guard, and probably our worst frountcourt in a few decades. Really don't have confidence in KO to win with that type of a roster at this point in time, but he's going to have to.
