Yet we somehow closed on 3 Top 100 recruits this year.
Maybe there is a reason no one wanted them

Maybe that's what they told themselves when they lost them to us.Maybe there is a reason no one wanted them
What the hell is that supposed to mean?Maybe there is a reason no one wanted them
I do think there's something different between grad transfers and recruits. You can sell top recruits a long-term vision, and they also want to be developed and hop to the league.
Grad transfers aren't NBA players, and they aren't as interested in developing or contributing to the revival of a blue-blood. The most attractive of them are leaving where they are to win, and to win regularly, and maybe win a title. We were that spot for Kromah, Miller, and Gibbs. Our rosters looked like they could win or compete for a title.
Our current roster isn't necessarily there yet. Next year? We'll be in discussions for better grad transfers, and we'll be in the market in two or three years ready to compete with pretty much anyone.
Because they can get an MA at a number of other good schools and help contribute towards a deep tournament run? Some grad transfers may realize they don’t have a shot at going pro, so why not get a masters degree from UConn and help rebuild a storied program.
I doubt there's any connection, but there are rumors that 6'8" forward Yoeli Childs, BYU's leading scorer and rebounder this last season, is leaving BYU.

It means Sub has an infirm grasp of what's going on around him. What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Literally every single one of our commits this year had multiple high D1 schools in pursuit... Cuse, PC, VT, Indiana, Florida... can go onMaybe there is a reason no one wanted them
Our fans on this board s^%t on us more than any other fanbase could.
Program name is nice.
History is nice.
Conference is nice.
And other schools have us beat on all 3.
But, ability to develop a marginal guy and give him a shot at the NBA or solidify him as a top notch international pro - that's very nice.
Remember - less than 1 year in, and Dan Hurley can already say, "I produced the most improved player in the AAC this year," in addition to guys he developed at previous stops.
Do you think UConn fans are, as a group, more neurotically miserable than other fan bases?

This is actually a bigger thing than we generally give credit to. I've mentioned before they can use Carlton's improvement to sell future bigs. But having it paper, written in stone as AAC MIP, that's meaningful. It's easy to say, we made this guy better, but when everybody else says the same thing? Gold.
Wish we could get a redo with this coaching staff and a freshman Kentan Facey

Thank you very much. I wanted to do this but I’ve been too busy to. You’re the man
Yeah and Jim Calhoun too on a freshman Deandre Daniels. He didnt get better until he got the new staff either.

I believe we were in his top 5 with the old staff

Playing time here is the furthest thing from limited, there is more playing time available here than pretty much any frontcourt in America. If UConn decides to fill the vacant backup center position with a grad transfer, it's important to note that whoever signs here will know that playing time will be limited. For that reason, I'm not holding my breath for Carvacho, Sestina or Andree.
To me, Alabama's Daniel Giddens seems like a great fit. He reminds me a bit of Yakwe where he's known more for his D and had his best season as a freshman in OSU. However, unlike Yakwe, Giddens has real 5 size at 6'11 247.
