Barker would make SC beastly since she's very offensively. I think she'd back up Beal her first year but would become the go to player as a sophomore with Boston leaving. As it stands, SC's depth chart is ridiculous as is:

C: Boston, Cardoso
F: Saxton (maybe), Amihere, Feagin, Watkins
F: Beal, Rivers
G: Cooke, Hall, Russell
G: Johnson, Cooper

Almost everyone was a top 15 recruit or McDonalds AA, and all of those players are very tall, long, or athletic.

Also of lesser note but still sweet: we finished the season 35-2. The 35 wins set a new single-season record for most wins in a season, passing the 34 wins in the 2014-15 season......
Pretty awesome. Congrats to your South Carolina WBB program and Coach Staley!! Great historic season.

I doubt if we would take anything from Missouri.
Blackwell would be an interesting addition to SC....solid player but I'm not sure she'd get much playing time or be a worthwhile pickup for Dawn with the athletes she has in the front court. If I'm Blackwell I'd look long and hard at Louisville, Texas or Maryland. All 3 schools could contend for a Final Four and desperately need help with rebounding.

Defensive nightmares from an athletic and size standpoint. Wish we had a three-point specialist in the bunch. Hope I don't sound greedy.

I dont think you sound greedy considering how poorly SC shot from deep this year besides Henderson/Littleton. It's the only legitimate weak spot for SC.

cooke shot better as a soph. Cooper hit several 3s in the McDonald's AA game, but I thought her shot was pretty line drive so we'll see how it translates in real games. Have Beal/Rivers/Hall/Cooke spend the entire off season working on their perimeter shot and maybe it'll pay off.

Nah. Too far off.
I was thinking she was '23. Didn't realize till I double checked she is '24. Dawn has been recruiting her so long it just seems as if she should be sooner than that, I guess. I feel relatively confident when the time does come, she will be a Gamecock.

Was Lele a freshman on the previous national championship team (i.e. will she have two national championship rings?)?

Ty Harris and Kiki Herbert-Harrigan were both freshmen on that team, and were the last Gamecocks to depart with championship rings. This season's championship was a first for every Gamecock currently on the roster....

Lele was a freshman on the 2017-2018 team. (The year of the failed T'ea Cooper experiment)
‘17-’18 was the year of the injury depleted backcourt. ‘18-‘19 was the Te’a Cooper otc year. Both seasons were victims of poor to mediocre recruit classes in ‘15, ‘16, ‘17 (especially ‘15 and ‘17 ), until the level of recruiting that we are used to now started to take shape in ‘18.

Araion Bradshaw ended her college eligibility at Dayton this season as the last remaining member of the ‘17 NC team in still playing college basketball. A very solid career. Ironically, USC could have really used her in ‘17-‘18.

Many looking at Barker. Of course with the transfer portal, could be someone there. Less like but possibly a ‘24 recruit ready to make an early commitment. Hopeful it won’t be long til it’s known.
Barker has since posted a photo of herself saying it is not her...

Had a feeling the birdie might be someone already on the roster just as Dawn hinted when Kiki and Lele return. Perhaps there is a birdie out there still, (perhaps Dawn will clarify), but it’s quite likely V was who Dawn was hinting at.

EDIT: NEVERMIND. Saw the tweet above right after I posted. :p
