So it's the battle of the border, South Carolina vs. North Carolina in Greensboro. I expect both fan bases to show up!

I don't know much about UNC but from what I have seen, Miami was a better matchup with our personnel. Does UNC have anyone who can battle with the likes of Boston, Cardoso, Saxton, and Amihere? I get the impression that they have one post that they heavily rely on producing night after night. Any UNC experts in the house???

Watched their game last night. Our advantage will be with the posts definitely. They didn't shoot a bunch of 3s but are more slashers. They play good defense. It will be fun. I think we will be fine, but you just don't ever know. We need one of our guards to get hot. We need that desperately - Zia, Henny, Destiny Littleton, Bree Hall - somebody needs to. I felt like Zia was getting started and then got and stayed in foul trouble.

It's interesting, because, to me, the teams that "scare" me more as a Gamecock fan, are those with dominant post defense -- those teams that could stunt our offense running through the bigs (like Miami). So, looking at the possible routes to the national championship game, it's Tennessee that gives the most hesitancy because A) It's hard to beat the same team 3x in a season and B) Tamari Key is probably the best remaining player that could neutralize our bigs. I doubt they win the Wichita regions, so I think this is a moot point, but I find it interesting.

Naz Hillmon and Ashley Joens would be difficult matchups for our posts on offense but I don't foresee the Gamecocks having issues scoring on them with the likes of Boston/Cordoso or Boston/Saxton in the game.

IDK...these are just random thoughts looking over the remaining team on the road to the title game.

I absolutely agree with you. The Miami team was a terrible matchup for us because they matched us size for size in the post. They also had some big guards. We’ve not played any team like that all year, which is why Kamilla was so important. She played very well And I think that could pay huge (no pun intended) dividends as long as we are in this tournament.

I feel like we've met the minimum expectation of the season with the Final Four.

I'll never criticize a season that ends up there.

I will be slightly disappointed if we lose to Louisville, though they are certainly very capable.

I think whichever team we would meet in the championship game is stacked and I can't feel bad about any result so long as we don't lay a complete egg.

I don't want for this to feel like the ceiling for this group. I don't know if next year's team will be better with a new PG, so I feel like we need strike while the iron is hot. For me, I would feel more satisfied with progress, so I really want them to make it to the national championship game. Ultimately I want for our women to win it all but, for me, my minimum "expectation" is to play in the national championship!

Overall, I will be satisfied no matter the outcome of the final four matchup. Our ladies have worked their butts off this season and I can't fault that!

My McD game update 5 min into the first quarter….

Janiah Barker.

WANT!

So much more than a forward.
(Hope Dawn and co., can get back in there and reel her in.)

That’s all.

Exactly! I told some SC fans a while back she was more than a Post she can legitimately play on the Wing.

If we don't win this year, I think it will because of outside shooting letting us completely down. This will be the catalyst for Dawn to get some shooters out of the portal.

How about T Cooper? Wow.
She was terrific. Her versatile game was on display tonight. She definitely showed out and impressed. Hope that confident 3 pt stroke carries over to her collegiate career.

Also on the subject of 3 pt shooters, Rayven seemed to shoot them well in high school and Breezy has shot 32.6% in her limited playing time. A number she’ll continue to improve upon over the next 3 seasons. So this roster does have some 3 pt shooting potential already on i.

After watching the game I definitely feel our staff should go all in on Barker. She can legitimately play 1-5 and she would only overlap Boston/Amihere for a year. Our post rotation as it stands the following year they graduate would be Cardoso/Feagin/Watkins. Watkins with her athletic ability could back up Cardoso at the 5 and Feagin with Barker could share minutes at the 4. That would certainly be one of the best front courts in the country.
