He also has similar size and somewhat similar game to Castle which is good for said bridge

I remember those Watson beach T-shirts. Didn't have one, but I remember them. There was a hilly spot between Frats and the Jungle that also attracted those pasty white bodies. We didn't mind.

In espns ranking, Newton is 8 and rahsool is 90. Don’t think I saw Gaffney in the top 100 or honorable mentions. For once, espn seemed to get it right.

I was very adamant against the transfer portal (before our own transfers of course) because I wasn’t sure if we could find the right guard. But this guy is it.

A tall guard who gets guy involved and can get his own shot? Yes please.

I'm not sure your point, and I'm not saying that snarkily.

I loved Diggins and thought he would stay and eventually play, but it didn't happen. Now Hurley has no choice but to get some transfers. That's a necessity, so it's not a matter of "culture vs. transfer."

Also, I don't think Hurley's in any way against transfers, just not building your whole roster based on it. And I tend to agree with that. It's ideal that transfers are used to fill in the blanks.

This kid seems to be perfect either scenario.

Edit: I guess my confusion is, why does it matter what his current ranking as a transfer is compared to Diggins? Diggins transferred, I didn't say Newton was a "must" when we still had Diggins. In fact, a few weeks ago I said I was comfortable with our PGs being Diggins/Floyd/Gaffney/Jackson as a point-forward. Two of those guys leaving, and him fitting our needs as a scorer/shooter/PG, makes him a "must" to me.

I like your post but we were going to need a really good point guard no matter what once RJ decided to leave. Diggins is the only point guard out of those guys and handing him the keys most likely would've been a disaster for next season.

If Hurley was comfortable with those 2 guys then they would still be on the roster and they would be slated for getting all the PG minutes. The fact that he told them they have no minutes here next season and are not being given the keys to the program says everything you need to know about what the staff thinks of their talent level and ability to contribute.

Hurley probably knew he had to get 2 better guards 6 months ago when he saw how these 2 guys looked in games.

Worse for them was that they were told they were getting no minutes even without a real PG left on the roster. Pretty disheartening for them I assume

Probably was tough to hear. Which is why people who are disappointed that they left should understand that they're gone because they are really, really bad lol
