It wasn't about him being less valuable; everyone here laughed at the notion that he would ever darken PCs door.
You stopped recruiting Dunn BC he wasn't coming; not BC you didn't want him
It's not our problem you couldn't keep your own house in order. PC has its own academic woes; Ledo is worth the risk. If you could have got him you would have.
Yes, Dunn wasn't coming but he also wasn't a priority. Look at the timeline for god's sake.
UConn wins NCAAT in 2011
UConn returns 8 underclassmen (Oriakhi, Lamb, Roscoe, Bradley, Giffey, Olander, Wolf, Napier)
UConn brings in 2 freshmen (Boatright, Daniels)
Calhoun commits to UConn in the fall of 2011 for 2013
At this point UConn has 11 scholarships full for 2013 if everyone comes back. UConn also has two PG's returning in 2013 unless one just blows up. UConn also has a focus on a certain CT bigman to fill a spot in 2013.
UConn can't even guarantee Dunn a scholarship at this point unless two players leave, because one is saved for Drummond if he stays in his original class.
Dunn commits to PC in the fall of 2011 for 2013.
Drummond reclassifies and comes to UConn for 2012.
PC loses 1 starter and brings in a top 50 frosh and a lottery pick...
Returns the BE leading scorer, BE top returning rebounder and one of the conferences top big men
It is arguable that the 1 starter is PC's best player and only true PG. It's the same as if UConn loses Napier, except UConn has a better record than PC this year.
