I can't wait until March 1, 2014 when PC is a lock and UCONN, despite their 18-8 record will be battling the Misfit 9's weak RPI.

LOL. It's great that you guys are excited about being in a conference that is barely better than the "Misfit 9." But your cute little fanbase refuses to acknowledge that Uconn is going to win 20+ games this year and should return all 5 starters next year.

Sorry but your dream of surpassing us (which was also supposed to happen before 2011, which turned out OK for us), is going to have to wait at least another year.

Ledo will never play a game for you guys, I've never had a problem with PC but they are completely irrelevant once you leave Atwells Ave.

Look everybody, a PC fan who thinks in the future they are going to be really, really good and we are going to stink. A tradition unlike any other......

PC loses 1 starter and brings in a top 50 frosh and a lottery pick...
Returns the BE leading scorer, BE top returning rebounder and one of the conferences top big men

The only thing PC will be a lock for next season is a top 10 Big East finish.

Ah, Austin is a thug. That's why your board went into melt down mode when he chose PC

Recurring theme

LaFleur will never go to PC....now he's a stiff, we didn't want him
Dunn is ours....we didn't want him
Ledo is a Husky!...We ne er wanted a potential lottery pick anyway
Austin to Storrs...he's a thug, we don't want him

- I don't remember much discussion about whether LaFleur would go to PC, or any discussion of him being a stiff. But he kept getting passed over for opportunities that were given to other UCONN assistants, so based upon our behavior we clearly though he was less valuable than others on the staff.

- We did stop recruiting Dunn.

- You can't seriously believe a school already in academic trouble would pursue Ledo can you? Even Kentucky wouldn't touch him.

- Obviously the thing about Austin is stupid.

If Ledo is truly a lotto pick like you keep saying, then he's gone THIS year. He's already said he's "reviewing his options" when asked if he would ever suit up for PC.

BTW, assuming Napier stays which is pretty likely, UConn loses 0 starters and only one rotation player, a guy who in recent games has barely played. PC could be decent if Ledo plays...but that's a pretty big "if."

I have no clue what you are talking about when you say Lafleur won't come. Lafleur was passed over and wanted to be the top assistant so he went to PC. We stopped recruiting Dunn like 4 months before he chose you and yes Ledo won't play a game for you. Dunn even verbalized that UConn hadn't reached out to him in several months.

It wasn't about him being less valuable; everyone here laughed at the notion that he would ever darken PCs door.

You stopped recruiting Dunn BC he wasn't coming; not BC you didn't want him

It's not our problem you couldn't keep your own house in order. PC has its own academic woes; Ledo is worth the risk. If you could have got him you would have.

PC could be decent? Have you paid attention since this team got healthy? Outside of the Syracuse debacle. PC has played everyone tough. Add Ledo into the mix and no one will want a piece of this team next year.

I'll take "statements not remotely connected to reality" for $1000 please Alex.

This makes absolutely no sense. As has been made abundantly clear during the whole conference realignment perception is reality. The name the big east will add value because it reminds people of basketball history (or at the very least it sticks it to the C-7, i mean this is like your grilfriend cheating on you and you giving her a nice long back rub because your best friend really worked her over hard, at a certain point there's just no need to be that cool about it makes you look weak). There is absolutely no reason to sell the name even if everyone that was in the conference leaves.
The name has become so tainted and associated with numerous defections that for the remaining schools, it's viewed as a joke. The lesser of the evils is to be associated with something new..

Your board referred to Andre as "FiFi" when he coached at Uconn and couldn't hang with Keno Davis and crew on the recruiting trail. But of course, now that he's at PC, he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

How many teams do the Misfit 8 need to add to make it a respectable basketball conference? No matter, I'm sure the Big Ten is already drafting its invite for UCONN.
You seem to be especially frisky today now that the Mt Rushmore of BE hoops schools are leaving asap.

Talk to me about what happens to UConn's basketball program over the next 10 years compared to Providence's basketball program.
How many 20 win seasons do you see from both, conference championships, sweet 16 advances and beyond.

Also while you're at it tell us who you think will be the head coach for both teams in 10 years. That's an easy question because one of the two coaches calls his current job his home where he wants to coach til he's 60.

Just curious.

Yes, Dunn wasn't coming but he also wasn't a priority. Look at the timeline for god's sake.

UConn wins NCAAT in 2011
UConn returns 8 underclassmen (Oriakhi, Lamb, Roscoe, Bradley, Giffey, Olander, Wolf, Napier)
UConn brings in 2 freshmen (Boatright, Daniels)
Calhoun commits to UConn in the fall of 2011 for 2013

At this point UConn has 11 scholarships full for 2013 if everyone comes back. UConn also has two PG's returning in 2013 unless one just blows up. UConn also has a focus on a certain CT bigman to fill a spot in 2013.

UConn can't even guarantee Dunn a scholarship at this point unless two players leave, because one is saved for Drummond if he stays in his original class.

Dunn commits to PC in the fall of 2011 for 2013.
Drummond reclassifies and comes to UConn for 2012.

It is arguable that the 1 starter is PC's best player and only true PG. It's the same as if UConn loses Napier, except UConn has a better record than PC this year.

Who's everyone? The UCONN football program is a joke. Since football is all that matters, clearly the premise behind the eventual demise of the new UCONN-less Big East, why would anyone want UCONN?
What joke, fool. UConn was in a BCS game 2 short years ago. 3 years ago we clobbered S. Carolina in a bowl in Birmingham Ala. Yeah, we slipped a bit with our coaching change, but we just had a great recruiting class. Just as soon as the next ACC team moves (and that will be definately within the next 2 years) UConn gets the call.
BTW, what about Rutgers entire athletic dep't.? Look where they are going. Enjoy your association that has 4 of your 7 founding members (including PC) with little, or no big dance appearances in the 21st century.

Hundreds? Apparently you don't follow football either since there are only 119 D1 programs out there. Hundreds? Hmmm.

There are more than 119. In fact, there are more than double the number you gave. You don't know what you're talking about. Which is not surprising. And not only that, but you won't acknowledge what I wrote. They were better than hundreds and in the top 5.

Complete and utter BS

Go read the football board. Tons of quotes. All true. Your jealousy rears its ugly head yet again. Mariucci, McShay, Kiper, several others.
