OK, what makes you think ESPN "hates" us? they don't hate us, they ONLY like those teams that they perceive will benefit ESPN. That's it, there is no focus to screw us over, if they can find a path that will increase their bottom line, that is the path they will take. It is OUR job to show them they were wrong, that are value is greater than they thought....So win games, go to Bowls, drive eyeballs to content and they will come back to us...
Right ……… and Megan Fox is actually a dude.

Miami is home. Pitt's QB can be decent or awful. Izzy may miss game due to injury, I like Miami's chances for the upset.

As a 6-6 independent, we can't be picky. I don't really want to play GASO as they are on next years schedule, nor do I really want to play a no win game vs GAST.

No bowl game is going to allow a seasonal rematch. Anyone predicting that isn't worth reading.

I'll be watching that one live after an awesome tailgate at Hard Rock. My daughter lives in Fort Lauderdale, and this will be our second Thanksgiving week down there with a Miami game/tailgate in the mix. She even sent me a nice Hurricanes polo.
The tailgate scene there is pretty crazy. Big Latin beats, crazy partying. Sure better than the tailgate/party scene at Michie this past weekend. West Point is a beautiful school with incredible scenery, but the stadium....meh. And no beer inside? Meh. Oh....and running out of beer at the two beer stands (outside the gates) by halftime? Unbelievable. Apparently they put football before beer there...maybe that's why they won.
I know there is the core anti-Rentschler group here, but we have it pretty good.

I don't see why a bowl would choose that match-up. They beat us up pretty good and while we're a better team than we were a that point in the season I don't think folks would see this as a competitive game.

That said, the Orange have a 6-0 and then 0-6 season on their hands if BC can upset them this weekend. That will put Dino back squarely in the hot seat. Neither the Orange or BC have been competitive in the ACC for quite some time.

Syracuse would likely destroy us. Maybe we can still sneak into the Fenway Bowl if the likely candidates decide to pass on it,

.-.
I think any MAC team would be a good test. App State would also be a nice game. We've already played Marshall.

AAC would be OK and a tough game. A P5 would be unlikely unless it's local.

The RENT is a much better facility from a fan's perspective than Army's home field. Its next to impossible to leave your seat, go to a food/beverage stand, and get back to your seat in time for the start of the second half.

I think we could see a great crowd of Husky fans if we ended up in Myrtle Beach.
Direct flights from New Haven on Avelo

It's almost begging for a promotion to promote Avelo's flights to Myrtle Beach and why Myrtle Beach is a great, easy getaway for Connecticut residents.

Miami had 98 yds of offense last week. I think Slovis can throw for 98 in his sleep
Slovis can probably throw three picks in his sleep too. Canes did beat GaTech, which beat Pitt at home, so they've got that going for them.

I know this has been mentioned dozens of times but these 2 games have no impact on our bowl prospects. The winner in each game becomes eligible, and the loser is out. The outcome doesn’t matter.

Really? Why isn't App State already eligible?

App State has 2 FCS wins but only one can count towards bowl eligibility, so they need another FBS win to get eligible
Not sure that rule applies when #s get tight. See Army. I’m pulling for App State and every other team taking on a 5 win team. CFB has been the proverbial Lucy pulling the ball away just as we are ready to kick.

Not that it is of any consequence at all, but the idea of Myrtle Beach has a lot of attraction. Temps in the 50s or 60s instead of the 20s? A modest length non stop flight and perhaps extra flights added to accommodate demand? Hell yes, that sounds perfect. Too perfect actually. Might not happen but fun to dream.

Latest The Athletic projection has UConn in the Cure Bowl in Orlando v. UNLV (12/16)

Overall a lot of “what ifs”:

-> Currently there are 74 teams eligible for bowl games. Tonight, the winner of Miami-Ohio vs. Ball State becomes No. 75. This week, there are 14 other games that could vault five-win teams into the postseason. They range from Florida Atlantic (5-6) beating Western Kentucky (7-5) at home to Auburn (5-6) winning at Alabama. In reality, only a few of those games will send the victors to the postseason.

We project only 80 bowl-eligible teams this year. When it comes to a five-win team earning a bowl bid, it’s all about their APR (Academic Progress Rate). The top two projected five-win teams based on APR are Rice (currently 5-6) and UNLV (currently 4-7). But if Missouri (5-6) beats Arkansas (6-5) or Michigan State (5-6) beats Penn State (9-2), they’ll go bowling, too. <-
