OT: Best Pizza in CT

IMG_1995.jpeg

I’ve said it before somewhere in these 356 pages, don’t sleep on this spot.

Just in case anyone on the board is interested AND has the minimum requirements:

"Frisco pizza is hiring full time, part time, pizza maker, start ASAP apply in person,345 Forbes ave, minimum 5 years experience in new haven style pizza. Great pay...

"

Hear me out. Most every OT thread sits on the main Men's hoop board for a day, maybe two. Then it goes somewhere else more appropriate. Yet this one has stuck around now for years. At this point? Most of the posts are:

1) How overrated Pepe's or Sally's is now. Or how the non-New Haven branches are awful.
2) About pizza places not even in CT. Do we really need to discuss pizza options in Indiana or Tennessee?
3) About some place or comment that was already discussed ten times over at some point. No one is going back to see if a spot has comments on it already. No one reads the past posts.

On one hand, you can say it's no big deal. It's not hurting anyone. On the other hand, you could also say it's mostly just noise by now with very, very, very limited useful info (Great, so and so poster got a pizza in Ellington that was overdone). The season is almost here and we'll have bigger topics to discuss. Why do we still have this thing kicking around?

I agree but there could be some unforeseen pizza developments in the future that trigger a revival. Maybe a "Pizza Thread 2" ?

I will never eat at Bufalina, but feel like I have through those who posted about it. Having said that, people are now discussing pizza joints from a decade ago in Virginia. Kill it with fire.

Did you wanna buy a pizza place?

I don't know why I click on this thread every day, but I do. There's is something to be said for telling my friends and relatives that we've got a thread about pizza that's been going for 14 years with 9k posts. Nobody else has that.

I like this thread. There's a lot more to it than pizza. People discuss their travel plans, the atmosphere in these places, events that led them there etc. DIscussing our pizza likes and dislikes reveals a lot of other stuff. I've learned a lot from it and I've tried some of the places mentioned as a result. Camille's in Tolland was a great find I learned of from this thread.

If the question could be answered, it would have been answered a decade ago.

Now, it’s just people preening over pizza that they may or may not like in hopes that other people will applaud their opinion.

“I went to (Sally’s, Pepe’s, Modern, wherever) and had the (clam, pepperoni, mushroom, whatever) pizza and omg it melted my face off with delicious flavors and textures. My girlfriend tried it and she made a little noise that I have never ever ever heard before in our 13 years of dating. It’s was so amazing that we almost forgot that we were heading to New Haven ComiCon.”

Okay. Great. Moving on.
