OT: Best Pizza in CT

Best frozen pizza ( well it’s more a casserole but) is pizzeria uno deep dish offerings.

By best I mean the best frozen approximation of the real thing. Deep dish lends itself to freezing oven reheating.

Reasoning is sound. Yet I'm having a hard time imagining the situation in which I'd actually buy a frozen deep dish pizza.

Re: "Sauce made from real tomatoes"... as opposed to what?

Is this because they used to use something that wasn't tomatoes? Or is it to deviously suggest that their competitors are using some ersatz crap?

I hope to never eat frozen pizza.

Now, how about your best canned vegetable?

The sauce is good. I know not why. Spicy.

And while @August_West is correct that the refrigerated Unos taste like UNOs at the restaurant, they still aren’t best.

That is not a combination I have ever heard of but now I'm intrigued

I haven't thought about combo in years and never made it after I moved out of the house, but yes, I do recall that being dinner on numerous occasions growing up. And I believe the whole thing was brought together with one of those small cans of Hunt's tomato sauce - no additional seasoning. It was solid kid food - but not sure I'd think much of it today. Or any hotdog casserole-like thing for that matter.

My canned vegetable of choice is chipotle in adobo, but that's kinda like cheating. So I'll go with medium sized low-sodium artichokes.

They aren’t frozen but the $6 pizzas at Sam’s club are legit decent.

This place called The Red Tomato is the best is my opinion. they are located in Madison ct.

Costco's and Sam's Club have decent pizza's. In a pinch. However, I would not call them frozen pizza. They make them and wrap them up in the fridge part. If you are talking about the real frozen one's in the freezer's...omg.....forget it. One time Costco and I think Sams carried Mystic Pizza. Small plain. Three in a carton. Not bad, plus you could dress them up to your liking. They could not keep up with the sales. They went out quick. Even the people at checkout raved about them. Then...it stopped. Everyone was baffled. Costco's comes out with their own. A copy of Mystic. Kirklands. Terrible!!

Everyone here should download Barstool’s/ Dave Portnoy’s One Bite pizza review app.

One bite, everybody knows the rules.

Everyone should ignore Barstool in the hopes they go away.

I know some of you may not care for Dave Portnoy or Barstool, but this is a big deal. Pres has finally come to New Haven to rate pizza. He’s planning on hitting Modern (8.8, should have been a 9.2), Pepe’s, Sally’s, and BAR. Zuppardi’s should be added too imo.

If all the New Haven pizza places deliver (which of course they will), he’ll declare New Haven the rightful pizza capital of the world!

When is this? It must have already happened because Modern isn't open on Mondays and it doesn't open until 10:30 on the other days of the week.

Speaking of Modern, we got takeout from there on Friday for the first time in several months, during which we've had Bufalina probably a half dozen times or more. We all agreed that the Modern crust now seems thick to us by comparison to Bufalina. One of the two pies was also under-done. Both were still excellent, but I think Bufalina is now our overall favorite, period.

I think he may have been there on Saturday or Sunday...not sure which.
