That's the problem with doing something off the top of your head w/o doing the research first

I guess kinda similar, but Middle Tennessee is one of the better programs in their conference. Sacramento St. has done nothing, ever. And I gotta think C-USA is considered more high profile than the Big Sky.Rellah Boothe? Both are lefty forwards who were ranked 3rd in their classes.
I thought it was going to be one transfer but not Styles. Styles earlier said she was coming back but she is extremely close to her mom who is in California. But as a previous poster stated, we took a bloodbath last season. For all the transfers, Brenda has done shockingly well so far keeping her talent besides Styles who didn't get a ton of PT.
Just remember that WCBB players are also humans and sometimes transferring has more to do with what's going on off the court than on it. And she is from the Sacramento area.Honestly I don't expect much out of her at this point. Too much moving around w/ absolutely zilch to show for it so far. Who would've guessed a McD's AA would end up at a bottom feeding Big Sky school? Nobody, that's who.

To be fair, there definitely more going on here in her situation. I recall on other threads it being noted she had talked about having mental health challenges when she transferred from Baylor the first time.Just remember that WCBB players are also humans and sometimes transferring has more to do with what's going on off the court than on it. Also, Sac State just hired Mark Campbell as head coach, and he's a talented coach and recruiter. I bet he sold it as, "Come be a key component of helping us build this program from the ground up."To be fair, there definitely more going on here in her situation. She's getting a chance to finish her college career while playing basketball. Hopefully she's also working towards getting the support she needs mentally. I'll take seeing her play here over who knows what could have happened if she hadn't decided to focus on herself over high level basketball.
Definitely didn't expect this myself, however she's not the only example of a highly ranked recruit or McD's AA who hasn't panned out as expected.

Baylor was one of her finalists before choosing Oregon. Unless she is a grad-transfer, she won't be eligible this coming season.Kim needs to be on the phone ASAP.
I thought there was a no sit out blanket for next season.Baylor was one of her finalists before choosing Oregon. Unless she is a grad-transfer, she won't be eligible this coming season.
I never understood why she left in the first place.I wonder what she’s looking for now, she would have been better off staying at Maryland.
I believe the 'first transfer' rule still applies for this year unless you are a graduate.I thought there was a no sit out blanket for next season.
Let her go elsewhere. I’m not impressed to say the least. I doubt her potential and think she’s reached her peak as far as what she can do. Should’ve just stayed at Maryland.Maybe its me but I have a difficult time seeing Mikesell in Kim's system.
Well, that applies to a "one-time" transfer. I took that to mean that a player who has already transferred before as an undergraduate would not be granted immediate eligibility under this new policy if they transfer a second time as an undergraduate. Maybe I have the wrong understanding.I thought there was a no sit out blanket for next season.
Bigby should definitely get playing time now, she will likely bring a different guard dynamic to the Duck team. Oregon was also one of the final three schools for 2021 Marshall, maybe she will reconsider Oregon with the USC coach now being out.Mikesell is a bit of a surprise. Graves seemed to think that his roster was solid for next season. Now looking at 10 total. This reduces the guards to Paopao, Scherr, and incoming frosh Taylor Bigby with seven bigs if you count Parrish at 6’2”. He might be okay with it though. Dugalic will certainly see time at the 3 so Parrish can rotate to the 2 as needed. Not sure he is searching the portal now. May go with 10.

I always thought it had something to do with wanting to be more of a point guard and she couldn’t with Owusu on the team.Maybe she thought with Sabrina and company leaving, she would be the main scorer. But she already played and scored a lot at Maryland. Maryland was losing a lot to graduation too so if she stayed maybe her role would have been even bigger? In the end some of these transfers seem to be done without a lot of thought but especially last years with COVID none of these transfers even visited these schools.
On the contrary, I believe Mikesell didn't want to play PG. The more she plays off the ball, the more she opportunities she has to spot up for 3's, catch, and shoot, which is her biggest strength. She had to play PG a lot for Maryland in the '19-'20 season because Owusu was turnover prone and foul prone earlier in the season. So Stephanie Jones replaced Owusu in the starting line-up midway through last season, which meant Mikesell had to run the point until Owusu subbed in. This was working well for Maryland in the latter half of the season, but it cut into Mikesell's shooting numbers and rhythm.I always thought it had something to do with wanting to be more of a point guard and she couldn’t with Owusu on the team.
Or Duke.South Carolina could use her.
No she has blatantly stated that she wanted to be a pg on several occasions. That’s why she transferred. And when Pao Pao went down with an injury she still was not the pg so I think she wants to play a position that’s not best suited for herOn the contrary, I believe Mikesell didn't want to play PG. Agreed if she sees herself in the WNBA, she would have a longer career showing she can play point guard, instead of just a catch and shoot player. No she has blatantly stated that she wanted to be a pg on several occasions.
