Here at TOC watching St, John’s College play. Popular game - I had to park 4 blocks away at a Taco Bell since the grocery store lot 3 blocks away was totally full and double parked (1 PM Friday afternoon). On this particular court the spectators view from above on one side only. Can’t see the sideline right below us where the college coaches sit, so I can’t confirm if CD is still here today, or see who else is here.

St John’s leads 25-6 half way thru the 2nd period, but this is the loser’s bracket. Azzi is as advertised...

Chris was supposed to leave for CA last night to join the team.

Hailey Van Lith scored 40 points Friday but Cashmere suffered a rare loss.

Bueckers scored 30 points Friday night in the game archived in the link above. She forced a bunch of shots early and was 5-14 from the field at one point. Then she went 9-11 to finish 14-25 overall, hitting a plethora of jumpers.

Wasn't really a Bueckers-esque performance yet she made all the shots that helped Hopkins pull away late.

Let's not forget about Kelly Faris (in the 30's), Kiah Stokes (even lower), and Saniya Chong (about #70).

For that matter, I believe that Stef Dolson was around #30, and she was a four-year starter, the #5 overall draft pick after her senior year, and she nearly made it onto the Wall of Fame.

Faris and Dolson no doubt, but Stokes and Chong were far from having "significant success" at UConn.

Taylor Bigby scored 16 points in a Centennial win at the Nike TOC Friday (12/21).

So your definition of significant success is that someone has to be a 4-year starter? Contributing significantly to Final Four or National Championship teams isn't enough? Getting drafted and actually playing in the WNBA isn't enough?

Where did I ever state that? Looks at their stats, Chong averaged 5pts and 2 assists per game. while playing at best average defense over her career. Stokes had a great senior season, but was incredibly inconsistent and put up very "meh" stats for the rest of her career, averaging just over 4pts and 5 rebounds/game in her first 3 seasons at UConn.

Wow, I don't think they lost a regular season game the previous 2 years, and advanced to the State Championship game both years.

It seems as if at least three top ranked teams with highly ranked players have already lost this season.

They may have not been superstars, but in team play everyone plays a role, no matter how small. I look at all the better than meh players on other teams who never got to play professionally, so I would say they probably would have at least put up Courtney Ekmark stats on less talented teams in college.

Probably, but that is not what we are measuring. In my original post I stated "siginificant success at UConn".

Would be happy to have players with Stokes or Chong's skills coming off bench this and next year.
Nail hit on head. I was thinking earlier this season that those two were precisely what UConn needed to go all the way.

Good lord I dislike today's recruiting. These kids are not even ten years younger than I am. What a world. Geno must hate it LOL.

I have authoratative proof UConn has been in communication with SG but I don't know her level of interest in UConn at this point

She has lots of potential but does she have the drive.

12/23

Sonia Citron had 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals on Sunday.

12/27

Amari DeBerry had 12 points, 9 boards, and 5 blocks Wednesday facing a sagging zone. She had a 17 point, 10 rebound, 3 block game back on the 17th.

Leilani Kapinus:

I assume she will be a medical red shirt next season.....................I've viewed her as an important secondary recruit at the pg position for UConn..............not sure whether their level of interest or for that matter whether other programs level of interest has changed as she is unlikely to play right away

She is a HS Junior. She will have all next year (Senior HS) year to rehab. She is top 10 in the class she is not a secondary recruit for anyone including UCONN.
