Well regardless of who enters the portal from LSU. Next year's team will be rough to watch. It was Pointer, Aifuwa.......gap... Then Tiara Young... After that the margin is wide for the rest of the team. Now I do think Dom Davis and Payne have potential... But no one can replace Aifuwa.

They better dig in that portal.

It might be best if LSU has a lot of transfers and brings in a new coach. Sometimes starting from scratch does a program wonders. It’s not like the current roster is legitimately competing for anything.

Agreed. The can afford to get a legitimate up and coming coach. The louisiana players can stay though. They are talented. Just need a coach to bring it out

It all needs to be blown up and start over. They need someone who can recruit and has a more modern offensive philosophy. Nikki's offense is completely stale and her system literally does not work at all unless you have superior players (talent), which we don't have. You can play D until you are blue in the face but the game is to put the ball through the hoop. Your top teams will do that no matter how good your D.

Hoo boy that 2017 class.

Walker grad early
Coombs to GA
AEH to Miss St and Seton Hall
Gordon to Texas Tech and ?

6.5 yrs at UConn
6 schools

Top 4 recruiting classes that year were Tennessee, UCONN, Texas and Louisville. All 4 UCONN kids left, all 3 Texas kids left, 2/3 Louisville kids left, and 2/4 Tennessee players left, making it a 3/14 (21.4%) success rate that a player would stick through their program until their senior season for the top 4 classes.

I definitely agree. It seems like we cannot snag any top flight recruits. Especially in the post. With how the inequality of treatment the women's gotten recently. I would think our AD would focus on the women's team as well. I mean it's really time to start over. LSU has the resources to afford to start over and recover quickly.

Overall I agree

Timing is everything. I think you need to have a coach in mind before you start the process or you're doomed to repeat the scenario all over again. You must not only get a very good coach but a very good recruiter as well. Luckily, now is a good time (if you pull the trigger soon enough) with the portal so abundantly full of players that could help you turn a program around quickly (with the right coach of course!). You won't get much in the way of 2021 OR 2022 recruits but you can start working on the 2023 class. Good luck!

Sadly for you, if they haven’t pulled the trigger already I think they are pretty unlikely to do so. With Langley and the UT assistant supposedly locked up, two top candidates already off the market.

Don't have a tweet or link, but I saw on another thread that Maddi Utti from Fresno St. has hit the portal. I had absolutely no idea she's from Seaside, OR. Been there several times. Not exactly a hoops hotbed. Small town on the northern coast of OR.

You are probably right although they need to find the right fit. Plus, I don't think they will announce a change unless they have someone good locked up.

To Alabama with Myra?

To each their own, but Lexi's track has been:

  • Played at UConn
  • Transferred to Texas Tech and played for Stollings
  • Entered her name into the transfer portal after Stollings was fired; removed her name from the transfer portal after Gerlich was hired
  • Played for Gerlich at Tech
  • Entered her name into the transfer portal

So basically she gave the new coach a chance but it seems to not have worked and/or as a grad xfer she’s moving on for academic reasons.

Could be. Or, she's just having trouble finding what she wants . . .

As expected.

Hope she excels there. As a a native Pennsylvanian with two brothers who went to PSU, it would be cool to see the Nittany Lions do well in wbb again.
That didnt take long!
