Ms Bueckers putting on a show early in her Saturday matinee:
UConn hit the "Daily Double" when they landed Williams & ONO. Do you, in your wildest dreams think that lightning could strike twice, and they sign both Brunelle and Boston?![]()

They're are more than a few posters, on our board and others, who think that Brunelle is already a UConn lean.

come on, every top recruit is a UConn lean.......ESPN sends subliminal messages through the digital airwaves during all of their WBB games......I've taped the games and when you slow them down to half speed you can hear very softly "come to UConn, learn to play better then Maya Moore, win championships....eat great meat balls"...couldn't quite make out the rest...![]()
I hear and obey.
... midway through the second half the Cougars were within 9 and threatening. That's when all-everything point guard Paige Bueckers went to work, draining her only three-pointer of the game, followed by a buffet of pretty baskets and some timely feeds to Raena Suggs and others. Before you knew it, Hopkins was up 20 and coasting home. Bueckers finished the day with 30 points ...
I guess we know talent when we see it.......not too difficult with PB...do you get the sense Geno wants a verbal from her ASAP?
We don't beat Texas or Baylor or a few other teams we beat last year without Butler... So if he sees something "Butler-esque" in her I'm all for it.Aquira DeCosta not playing in this game, it's a different St. Mary's school.
Not sure why Geno is scouting Angel Jackson. Ironically, I think the drawbacks with Jackson would be very similar to those with Natalie Butler. I'm happy she's getting recognized and I can see some promising glimpses that remind me of former Ohio State star Jessica Davenport, but wouldn't be athletic enough for UConn's bread and butter nor really a dominant finisher on the block yet in half-court settings.
In the bit of footage I have seen and I could be way off here but her game reminds me of Maggie Lucas. Some Paige Bueckers highlights from today:
Ohh and ahh inducing reverse layup at :35
Pull-up jumper from just inside the arc at :57
Running floater at 1:05
Three pointer at 1:36
#1 Hopkins Beats #3 Centennial at Breakdown Tip-Off Classic
23 and 24. There's a pattern there. Azzi will be getting 100 ppg by her senior year.12/2
Azzi Fudd with 24 points on Saturday, 47 through her first two games.
Not really this kid is on a different level. Maggie crafted her stroke in the gym at St. Joes but could hardly create her own shot and not many stats in the assist area. Paige is a natural at everything and blessed athletically. The best part of Paige game is the strength of her passes. In the bit of footage I have seen and I could be way off here but her game reminds me of Maggie Lucas.
Some buzz that 2019 Celeste Taylor could be committing (to Texas) tonight:

Shoot, like Ionescu, she's one I would really have liked to see as a Husky.AND commit she did. Congrats to Longhorn fans.

Hopefully 2020 post Natalija Marshall doesn’t join her.

Geno Auriemma has become a familiar face at Hopkins High School’s Lindbergh Center, having stopped by three times in recent months, most recently on the first official day of girls’ basketball practices.
The reason the legendary UConn coach has beaten a path to Hopkins door is a 6-foot tall point guard who’s a bit on the slender side, walks with a bounce in her step, handles a basketball like a yo-yo, slides effortlessly through traffic and is magic from outside the three-point line.
It’s a testament to Bueckers’ basketball IQ that her biggest weakness is her willingness to leave what little ego she has on the bench.
Auriemma has told Cosgriff “she’s ahead of Diana Taurasi at the same point in time in her career.”
