Net improvement I can see, but I challenge the toxic comment. Phoenix was a mess, however nothing was ever substantiated in Seattle.

All that was put out were third hand accounts and rumours. If that's what we're going to believe what about the claims that Ogumike and Diggins unfollowed Loyd on social media? Or the claims Loyd filed the complaint against Quinn over not reaching her bonus targets?

While we'll never really know what happened, seeing how Diggins' Unrivaled team mates are with her makes me question that narrative. If she was that toxic, would they have approached her to play for the league? It just doesn't make sense to me but I don't have the same dislike of ND as a rival like others.
And still is. The goat for some reason refuses to make her announcement, BG is out the door, the million dollar coach has established a new salary baseline for mediocrity and the front office is a laughing stock. But they do have a new practice facility.

Yeah....Mr. Ishiba hasn't exactly started off on the right foot as an owner with the exception of the new facility.

OK, but I think my point still stands that A'ja + Young + Gray + Hammond was a major upgrade for Loyd? All I'm saying is, she forced a trade and got supremely rewarded for it.

Let me stir the pot. Big trades in the W aren’t over yet. How about LA sending Plum and a draft pick to Dallas for the #1 pick, and you know who LA would take with that pick….;)

If I am trading paige; I want a ticket seller in return. So, I actually prefer Brink and/or Rickea over Plum as an asset.

I would tell you a move I would do if I were Dallas.

Satou and the #1 overall pick for Caitlin Clark and Katie Lou. I am willing to do that trade.

Yes your point stands. It's the toxic guard comment I disagree with because there is nothing proving who that person was with respect to the Seattle situation.

All we know is that things fell apart, Loyd wanted out and Seattle accommodated her. And considering the original rumour had her landing in Chicago, landing in Vegas is a significant upgrade.

Of course UConn fans would go there ;)

Or dear heavens.....are you trying to start an implosion on the board today? If so, I'm here for all of it!

Not really. I am just advertising that the number one pick has incredible value imo. Way more value than Plum and the #9 pick for example.

That pick does have value, but there's no package deal with Clark that I could see Indiana agreeing to for that to happen. The fanbase would likely have a meltdown and be outside the arena burning their season tickets if that were to happen, even with the possibility of Bueckers being drafted.

I know. I am just telling you from the Dallas direction what I would want.
As a UConn fan...... let's be clear ;). However offering to package Samuelson as part of the deal is interesting and confusing considering her time there previously, not to mention she moved from LA where Miller was the HC.

This is when Seattle trades Skylar Diggins and the newly acquired #2 pick to Dallas for the rights to the overall First selection of the draft. This works in Paige’s favor and becomes a Storm. The UConn of the west coast.

I find it hard to believe that diggins-smith goes back to Dallas. Pretty sure she burned some bridges

And considering the track record of Bibbs since joining Dallas in 2019, how many has he burned with his decision making?

Considering how this team has been mismanaged since their Tulsa days, I'm confused at how the ire towards this franchise seems directed at certain players more so than the front office.

Does it excuse Diggins-Smith 100%? No, but let's try look at the entire picture.

Seattle wins the trade. I’m shocked the Sparks effectively gave up Olivia Miles for 1 year of Kelsey Plum. Establishing a youth core of Brink/Rickea/Miles would’ve put LA in a great spot for years to come.

Loyd to the Aces is a really good fit IMO provided Jewell is okay taking far less shots, similar to her role on the Storm when Stewart was there. She’s a good defender and should be an upgrade from Plum if her shot selection improves (big if).
LA said that they was uncertainty about who was going to be at #2 pick (Miles hasn't officially declared) land Plum said that she's willing to be there longer than 1 year. IMO, it's a win now move. It's the type of move that the LA Lakers would make.

Diggins-Smith is 34. I am not sure I am willing to give up more than a second round pick for her. Seattle is the team golden state chose to not pick from during the expansion draft. Their roster stinks and they have no attractive assets imo.

I understand that franchise has been mismanaged. A poster specifically named SDS to Dallas. She demanded out. Again…. Why would they take her back? Or why would she want to go back?

I don't know if that's a good example to reference considering their track record the last few years. It worked during the COVID bubble season but not much success since.

I only challenge the narrative because of how long ago that was and who is in place now. Considering the amount of turnover that has gone on since her time there, who is left other than Bibb? Curt Miller may have a different perspective on Diggins and he's the general manager now. Is it likely that she'll go back? I doubt it, but we can't assume things can't change.

I'm talking about the type of move in general. Yes, the Lakers have missed the playoffs a couple of times but they also made it to the Western Conference Finals another season too.

There would be riots in Indiana if they traded Clark

If I’m Dallas, I’d only trade Paige to LA if I got Cam + future draft pick(s)

The likelihood of that seems low. Have a hard time seeing the new coach give up Brink knowing what she can do on the court after coaching against her all these years.

It's time for everyone to accept that Paige is going to Dallas. It doesn't make sense for them trade that pick to anyone else. It won't be the end of the world if she goes there. Arike and Paige easily becomes one the top backcourt duos. Also the pressure Arike attracts will do wonders for Paige.
