On another side note, one of the things I like about watching the draft is seeing the players in their draft outfits instead of their BB uniforms.

I like how you said what I was thinking without actually saying it. Amazing.

I truly believe that Glory has a ton of untapped potential on offense and that if she'd been in a team-oriented offensive system in college, she'd have realy sparkled on that side of the court. I'm a big-time believer in Glory.

I love Johnson's attitude and hustle but I'm not sold on her offensive potential. Her shooting mechanics are awkward and not likely to lead to consistent shooting; she also hasn't shown great passing instincts. I agree that she would've benefited from a different offensive system in college but I'm not sure she's on the right pro team for her game to develop.

I would love if Tiff ended up staying in Connecticut. I'm sure Caroline would be happy. Maybe they could still live together :)

San Antonio has to be thrilled for Shenise to fall to #5.

I was surprised Tulsa took Glory Johnson- I thought she was similar to Tiff Jackson and they also have Pedersen (although he may want her as more of a 3).

As for Prahalis...she can pass the ball. To her teammates, out of bounds, the other team...

It would be nice for Tiff to stay in CT, but I really thought Phoenix was the best fit for her.

.-.
This is what was listed under Prahalis' bio on the draft page

Her temperament overshadowed her achievement a bit too much her first three seasons, but she kept that in check this year.

HA!

Kelly Cain? Risky pick unless the Liberty have solid info on her health.

.-.
Kelly Cain? Man. That is...questionable.

Question: Are these guaranteed contracts? Or can they be cut before the season?

Prahalis against DT in practice is something I would pay to watch.

I think having two of the top four picks this draft show just how much Tennessee underachieved this year.
It's also an indication of how relatively weak the draft is. after all, i think most expect Baugh and Manning to be drafted too. in fact, IIRC, Baugh was also invited along with Stricklen and Johnson, so the expectation is she will go in the 1st round.

.-.
Novasel #8? Again, I wouldn't take her over Tiff. She won't be able to do what she does in college against pros. And Tiff is much quicker with a better shot, IMO.

Novasel is stunning in civvies and some makeup. Good luck to her in that joke of a franchise.

Yeah, this class is pretty

weak overall. But still, now with Cain, Stricklen, Johnson and possibly Baugh and Manning all drafted...doesn't speak very highly of Tennessee the past four years.

This is also a Washington team whose coach posted a picture of herself online with a whiteboard of all the free agents she was going after and who she wanted to draft about 3 months ago. This is a poorly run program.

On a side note, does anyone think Kelly Faris could be drafted next year? If I were a team I would love to have her, but I know offensively she might not be a hot commodity.

Somebody will use a second-rounder on her for sure.

yeah, a little surprising, but she is a much better passer than Glory J, as Becca noted.

I was pulling for Minny to take Glory as some others were, but I have a ton of respect for Reeves and her staff and I think the Dev Peters pick can be a good pick for them. Dev has shown that she can be dominant on the defensive end and she is a better leaper than Glory. I see them pencilling in Dev as a backup to Brunson. Brunson is aggressive and sometimes got in foul trouble in the 2nd half of the season, and Dev's is a closer analog to Brunson's game than anyone they have right now. Adair is a very solid player, and I love her game, but she is more of a F/C. And Amber is a question mark for me. Huge upside but not sure what she will bring this year. Then Taj, she's going to be playing fewer minutes this year as well and (per Taj) is not pushing to be a starter. I think she will start at the beginning of the season, tho, and then Adair will start later on if she keeps improving like she did last year.

Minny is going to need all the strength and defensive prowess it can muster inside this year, with the Sparks loading up. This pick is like a surgical strike for Minny, made for Dev's particular set of skills.

Ummm who is this that the Sun drafted? I watch a lot of bball and I haven't heard of her.

She still has a year to develop some sparkle.
