Have we ever had 2 40 point scorers on the same day before? Loyd might make that happen.

Well...Loyd had 23 at the half, and scored 1 more point the rest of the way. But Seattle got the win. The battle between the Storm and the Merc for 10th place is actually getting fairly interesting.

Queen Egbo is really thriving now that she joined the mystics. For her development it’s one of the best things to happen to her, she gets to play much more every game now. For Indiana, still a horrible trade IMO

I was going to post something similar. I saw more today fro Egbo than I’ve seen from Zahui B since she’s been with Indiana. No clue what Dunn was thinking unless Washington is covering most of Zahui’s salary, which is way bigger than Egbo’s.

Aces are trying to survive with no Clark, and poor shooting games from Wilson, Young and Plum. Cayla George of all people is bailing them out.

.-.
Well I guess the Aces can play subpar for 3 quarters, wake up and still win by 20. Against some teams anyway.

the Sun REALLY miss Bri Jones. The Wings have two huge centers, and the Sun are trying to keep them away from the basket with Bonner at around 140 and Nelson-Ododa at 160. Bonner, with a bad back, is giving up close to 100 lb to McCowan and Brown, both of whom had nice games tonight.

Across Candace Parker's Timeline

@WBBTimeline

Satou Sabally, folks. She's the 1st player in WNBA history to finish a game with: 25+ PTS 8+ REB 5+ STL 4+ AST 3+ 3PM https://link.acrossthetimeline.com/stat-HYSuL

Finally injury-free: remarkable player; even more remarkable person.

Can we officially say that the list of 2023 MVP candidates has been narrowed down 3? Stewart, Wilson and Thomas.

What each candidate could benefit from IMO:

Thomas: More triple doubles, the more she has, the harder she will be to overlook. The Sun closing out the season strong. Outperforming Stewart in their two remaining matchups. Could benefit from some high scoring nights to lift her ppg average closer to historical MVP numbers.

Wilson: The aces handing the liberty two more losses, and outperforming Stewart in those games. If Vegas runs the table from here, going 37-3, and Wilson continues to produce at her averages, she’ll be the best player on the best team, maybe of all time. Some voters place the best player on the best team as their most important criteria.

Stewart: Has the opportunity to face Wilson and Thomas two more times each. Has the biggest opportunity to leave a final impression on voters. Would benefit from some efficient shooting games to increase her averages. Her stats year over year are very similar, but her MVP season stands out because of her field goal percentages. If somehow the liberty catch Vegas and clinch the #1 seed, Stewart would be hard to deny.

All three are great choices, and great players.

Geez that stinks; she's the only decent option they have at point guard. I still don't get trying to use Tiffany Mitchell. I much prefer Banham at point to Mitchell. I can only hope they put Shepard at the high post and use her to find shooters or post-ups.

Has there really been another serious candidate for the last month or more?

I‘d say Napheesa, especially if they can make it to the #4 seed.

Cheryl has done a great job, should definitely be in the Coach of the Year conversation.

She's having a really great season, but I think Minnesota is way too far behind the top 3 teams for her to really be in the running.

So it's the rubber match between Vegas and New York for the Commissioner's Cup tonight. Looking forward to this game.

I don't think this is the rubber match. Pretty sure there are 2 more games.

I think Phee has two things working against her. Firstly her team is barely clinging in to the playoff picture now. Secondly her team had their two biggest wins of the season without her. She's definitely All WNBA at this rate, I just don't see MVP.

At this point it's the rubber match for me. I know there are other games but based on the first two where they both laid an egg against each other, this one is intriguing.

I highly doubt she’ll be MVP as well, but outside of Stewart, Thomas and Wilson, she’s probably the only other player in the conversation.

I am on the fence on this one. Love Phee and Coach Reeve but I am not adding Coach Reeve to the COY conversation. I think it was the timing of the schedule and teams having that down year, which has helped Minnesota move up into that #4 seed. As for Phee, she was in the MVP conversation early and then kind of faded into the background.
