I found Cristin Milioti his equal as Sofia. She's just captivating. Such a well fleshed out character. Kudos on the writing.

That series was exceptional.

The movie it was based on was very meh.

Banged through all six episodes of Court of Gold (Netflix) last night. As seems usual for these hoops miniseries, I found it excellent. I didn't really follow much of the 2024 Olympics other than swimming and gymnastics, and just figured US team would dominate and didn't even watch the full final game. But the stories of the other top teams were really good and showed that the rest of the world really is ready to take over Olympic hoops. And the Serb coach is everything I expect a Serb coach to be, lol.

Without LeBron, KD and Steph, gotta really wonder how the US can defend the title in '28.

Watched ”Zero Day“ on Netflix. it was a bit of a slog.
I found it depressing for the sole fact that DeNiro is 13 years older than me, but he can still run and swim much better than I.

It was an interesting premise, and overall I enjoyed it, but there was a lot of waste. I'm a big Lizzy Caplan fan, but found her part to be too obvious. Matthew Modine just seems to get worse with age. The rest of the supporting cast was mostly OK.

End of the day, I'm sure DeNiro enjoyed the role, especially as it gave him the opportunity to torture a fictional Tucker Carlson.

That was my favorite part.

Also I don't think they ever closed the loop on the Proteus plotline.

The series had some potential, like many other series. But they all fail in that in the end, what is really going on is just tremendously smaller than expected and totally not worth the suspense. The "villain" was also kind of obvious.

I doubt that. I don't think De Niro is much of an athlete and he seems pretty frail. I haven't seen him in anything lately but just judging by the images I've seen.

Nothing presently but I want to watch The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul again. I keep watching facebook reels and youtube vids of great scenes, it's addictive. Just watched this scene which has become well known for "Up 'N da Club" by 2nd II None

He swam and ran in this show. Looked pretty good for a guy his age. Just sayin.

season three hasn't started out very well.
Two episodes...boring. Nothing has happened, plot hasn't moved forward. But there are a bunch of extremely annoying characters at least.

Oh De Niro is definitely in great shape. I think he always keeps himself tip-top and looks great in his movies. I just don't think he is athletic in terms of performance like Cruise for example. I don't think I've ever De Niro actually run in any of his 100's of movies.

His volleyball serve and throw gave it away. Classic classic scene, great stuff.

I may have to binge NewsRadio. Someone mentioned Joe Rogan and I didn't know too much about his career. Found this clip of Joe, Maura Tierney and Tiffany Thiessen

He didn't have a huge part in the success of that show and pretty much played a dumb jock character.

Like Joe, I would almost certainly be entirely transfixed and mesmerized by Tiffani Amber Thiessen. Maura is attractive but went HS with my wife so I'd need to look away.

Same here. Notre Dame Academy? I always liked Maura in "er." I never watched Rogan before but I was watching this special with Magnus Carlsen and I'm thinking, he has a 2 hour special with the best grandmaster in the world. It's a pretty good show.

Yeah. Norte Dame in Hingham. My law school roommate went to HS with Brad Pitt. So I suppose he wins.

I've gone back in time (yes I do have a Hot Tub Time Machine) to watch M I - 5 on Britbox. First couple seasons are a bit dated, so I jumped to S4. Strong British secret service drama. I just hope the USA has a similar department because the stuff those "entitled" Brits were trying to pull is probably on some top American politician's playbook.

I strongly recommend MI 5, but start at S3 or S4. There are 10 seasons.

I enjoyed NewRadio with other cast members such as Dave Foley, Phil Hartman, Vicki Lewis, Khandi Alexander and Stephen Root as boss Jimmy. Hartman was great in this show and his demise was such a loss.
