Wouldn't be surprised if Creighton finishes 5th. I think Nova will finish ahead of them
Hard to know if/when Kalkbrenner will be back to 100%. He's very important, especially on D. The Creighton guards are not actually good enough to be an offensive team. They need to be a defensive team. They don't fit McDermott's system, because they can't actually shoot (and on top of that don't finish well at the rim). 1/11 from 3 today for Nembhard, Kaluma, and Alexander. Nembhard's turnovers have bumped up and his shooting has absolutely plummeted post Maui (3/25).

Neither team shot well today. Combined 10-41 is pretty pathetic.

Creighton’s schedule actually works out relatively well for a team waiting out an illness to a key player. Next three games, against Butler (12/22), DePaul (12/25) and Seton Hall (1/3), are home and winnable without Kalkbrenner or with Kalk on a minutes restriction. Butler and SHU won’t be easy without Kalkbrenner at full strength, but Creighton is probably still favored in all 3. That is 21 days for Kalk to get better before they play at UConn (1/7). Creighton is probably a high single digit dog on the road against UConn even with Kalk, so the next time Creighton truly needs him 100% in terms of really impacting their chances of winning a key game is at Xavier on 1/11, 25 days from now.

Incredible slate of games, especially after a dull Finals week.

The only thing I'm able to do today is sit inside and watch TV, so I'll be locked in to these games. Put some money on Alabama, Virginia, and Ohio State so I'll be sweating those bets as well.

"The case for these ten men's college basketball teams to win it all" is the title of the first article, the showcased article, on ESPN's Men's College Basketball section. So, naturally I expect to see UConn mentioned and am eager to read about them, but there is nothing at all. Technically, the article talks about games this weekend involving matchups with 2 top teams paired against each other- yet it's still deceptive with a title like that. Hope this kind of shunning/being ignored becomes further motivation for the team, not that they need any.

It's not exactly the most clever display, but I still laugh every time I see the Kansas students with their shirts off and painted with "WE (heart) DICK"

Kansas is playing great. I was concerned but it seems Self has addressed the offensive problems. Much better ball movement and the transition game is killing IU.

I thought they might have a hard time with Trayce. Apparently not.

Let's go UConn. Let's go Bama. Let's go Houston. Let's go Davidson.

I'm not impressed with either Seton Hall or Providence.

Seton Hall looks REALLY bad at times, but I feel like Shaheen is going to build a culture that will pay off in a few years. Recruiting is tough for them in the area, but he's clearly trying to build a really tough and scrappy team

Gotta clean up the X's and O's, but I think it'll come with time. Watch out for SHU in a few years

Loved Fox intro to their two BE games mostly talked about UConn. SHU defense looks pretty good and Providence doesn't have an answer for Kadary!

Rutgers cruising to a win over Wake Forest. This is a somewhat un-Rutgers like season. Normally, Rutgers picks up a bunch of bad OOC losses before going over .500 in conference and screwing up the conference's computer rankings. This will be Rutgers' first quality win, so they aren't exactly helping the Big 10, but there are not UMASS or Lafayette quality losses by Rutty this year.

Aren't they about 14 points away from having 3 more wins if I remember correctly? Lost some close ones. I have a feeling they will be bringing their A game by the time we play them.

Yeah, but some of those opponents (BYU, Nebraska) weren't great, and Marquette handled them easily last night. Either they get their center Kalkbrenner back, or they don't. With Kalk, Creighton is one of the 4 best teams in the league. Without him, they are probably #6 or #7.

Wow. Indiana getting pantsed on national TV.

Kansas looks really good. I watched them in the Wisconsin game and I was unimpressed, but they look legit.
