Both teams had icky assist to turnover ratios. And sketchy officiating. It was just a matter of someone getting the hot hand in OT. I don’t see this game as being too indicative of either team’s success in the tourney.

SC went from a bad game to an unmitigated disaster. Played uninspired. They’ve done that a few times now this year.

I’m not quite sure why they went to Joyce on the final possession before OT. I’m not in love with that decision anyway but certainly not near the three-point line.

Chavez is one of those players who can shoot you out of a game but becomes unguardable when it’s time to close one.

Good win for OK. SC must refocus

Watched both the Maryland and Michigan State games tonight. Really shocking the number of empty seats in the arenas. Neither team could have had any more than 2000 in attendance. I don't care how many tickets were sold.

.-.
Let's see if I can work the reverse jinx. Montana St.'s quest to run the table in the Big Sky is in serious jeopardy. Trailing by 19 thru Q3 @ Idaho St.

Overtime games, upsets, crazy comebacks......................Great night for chaos.

Okay @TheFarmFan , definitive proof that the reverse jinx does not work. Montana St. didn't chip away at the lead at all after my commentary, lost by 19.

It's not over yet. Oregon St. just blew a 6 point lead in 25 seconds against Gonzaga. How do you foul somebody and give up an and-1 in a situation like that? Then gave up a long 3. And we're going to OT.

Whittaker from GU is a beast. 32 pts/13 reb. Oldest Fr. ever, it's her third year in college, but whatevs.

Shuler from OSU on the verge of a triple double--17 pts/9 assists/10 steals.

.-.
Oregon St. wins in OT 92-87. Whittaker finished w/ 37/14. Shuler didn't get that 1 last assist she needed. Villa from OSU scored 31, including 15-20 from the FT line (she split a pair of FTs twice in the last 20ish seconds of regulation that should've won the game w/out the OT drama, but oh well).

East Lansing is -3 tonight and tomorrow gets down to -12. No excuse for Maryland though.

You have no idea what panics people in the DC metro region. When I first moved here, I went shopping after work on Friday, probably 7:30. There was NO bread, NO eggs, NO milk. I had no idea, so I asked an employee whether a delivery had been missed or something. "No, it's the storm." ??? There was a dusting forecast for Saturday.

Just a guess that the empty seats may be weather-related. Xfinity Center is very easy in-out, right off a major thoroughfare, but. . .

SC showed up, but not to play. Only 12 assists? Outrebounded 39 to 54. Beers owned Okot.
Okot and Tac seemed quite flustered offensively. Beers had 4 fouls and was basically conceding layups just standing with her hands straight up but SC's bigs kept missing point blank shots inside.

No way there were 6500 fans at Maryland game. 6500 tix sold, yes, but if there were 2000 in the stands I'd be surprised.
MD game got 6500 which is actually pretty good, but the arena is 18k

Georgetown got 3800 which I'm sure they're thrilled about (capacity 4200)

And it's a weeknight in a major metro area.

Here's a clip just before tip-off. This isn't 6500 fans.

Wish schools would report tickets scanned for attendance versus tickets distributed. The difference is significant not just for WBB, but for college sports in general. But the schools want the narrative of sell outs, or 10,000 WBB fans etc. Would also be very easy to report scanned ticket counts.

Nebraska football is perhaps the biggest offender. 85k stadium with a long reported sell-out streak, but sometimes less than 60,000 show up. But all schools report the same way. Would love to see an article like the one linked below for WBB.

At least y'all will be getting all snow. Central NC is under a ice warning. Not worried about losing power as our neighborhood has underground electricity, never lost power during an ice storm. Just the travel conditions are expected to get really bad late Saturday through Monday afternoon.

I'm prepared. Water, chocolate muffins, frozen pizza, and tuna salad. Will have to pick up vanilla ice cream, fried chicken, donuts, and Pepto Bismol by around noon or so Saturday. Restaurants and grocery stores probably will start shutting down about 2pm
