Huge resume builder for Vandy, which has had a largely soft schedule so far (other than LSU).

I keep thinking Washington won't get ranked again, and then they sneak in there and prove me wrong. Hopefully they will avoid stubbing their toe this time w/ next 2 games against Rutgers and Penn St.

Allow me to get ahead of myself a bit. I see Fairfield and Quinnipiac both won today to improve to 9-0 in the MAAC. Had me wondering when they will meet. We have to wait until Jan. 29th when Fairfield will host the big showdown. And then the return game 2/14.

While the game ended up being a nail biter, I wasn’t that impressed with Vandy. They almost gave the game away in the 4th, however Michigan failed to capitalize on it.

Blakes is a great player, but she had some out of control plays. I haven’t seen many of their games, does the assistant coach usually draw up the plays in the huddle?

Just saw the weather forecast for the weekend. Hopefully they are wrong or conditions change. If they are correct, there will be a ton of postponed games Saturday and Sunday across the South and East Coast.

What, no milk shake?
Cheerwine float instead

At 6 in the morning? Let's not be ridiculous

Correct me if I'm wrong but I read somewhere that Naz Hillmon's mother played at Vanderbilt when she was in college. This game must have been an interesting one from a bragging rights perspective.
Yep. You are correct. Naz's mom did play for Vandy back in the day. As for bragging rights. Oh, I am sure there had to be some bragging going on at some point.

Looks like Jada Williams said "enough of this." She's on the verge of a 40 piece and Iowa St. is gonna break their losing streak.

edit--she's still playing late in the game in a 20 point blowout, she's up to 44 points and 8 assists

I think South Dakota St. is a bit mad after losing their last game. Hammering North Dakota 74-31 near the end of Q3.

edit-99-47 final

Wisconsin about to knock off Nebraska, will improve to 5-4 in the B1G. Going under the radar, but big improvement for them with the new coach. With several quality wins in conference, not looking like a flash in the pan.

edit--63-60 final; Nebraska falls to 3-5 and the schedule doesn't exactly get easy at any point, Northwestern and Rutgers are the only 2 games that seem like almost locks for a W

Nebraska has 0 quad 1 wins

WV with a 19-6 fourth quarter to beat ASU.

Texas Tech trailing BYU in the 3rd. 2nd straight loss coming?

I thought Oregon was having a decent season...but they just fell to 2-6 in conference. Looking up at some teams they probably didn't expect to be ahead of them in the standings. 4 straight Ls. They get Penn St. and Rutgers next, but after that a tougher stretch w/ Maryland, Illinois and Ohio St. Then some winnable games again at the end, Nebraska, Washington X2, Indiana and Purdue.

edit--loss tonight was to Minnesota, who got a split on the NW road swing

Speaking of Washington, they messed around for a while tonight before getting serious. Jumped out to a double digit lead early. Did the all too familiar 2nd quarter melt down, gave up a big run, went into the half only up 1. At home. Against winless in conference Penn St. I just don't know what is up with this team. They seem incapable of staying focused. They did pull away at some point in the 2nd half for a comfortable win, but it should've never been close at any point in the game.

On a star studded UCLA team, the last 2 games Jaquez has scored a combined 47 points on 20-24 FG shooting, 5-6 behind the arc. That's pretty good, right?

It was a foregone conclusion they would beat Purdue easily. 96-48 seems about right. I never look at betting lines, but pretty sure they covered the spread on this one.
