Some of the rescheduled ACC games today and tomorrow make sense. Others do not. Louisville women play at 11am because the men have a game at 2:15. Duke plays Pitt at 4pm because the Pitt men play at Noon. State at UVA tipoff at 3 due to the fact that the UVA men play at Noon. For some reason VPI plays at Wake at 5pm while the Wake men play on the road. Hopefully Duke gets on the plane as soon as the final buzzer sounds in order to make it back to the airport and back to campus before it gets too bad. State should be ok as long as they get on the bus right after the game. However the Hokies game won't end til close to 7... And it will probably be snowing in Blacksburg by then. They might have to stay a extra day or two in Winston Salem

Inexplicably the Syracuse vs Chapel Hill game is scheduled for Sunday at Noon 😟😟😟

NO CHEERWINE?

stay safe & warm TDF

I hadn't thought about that, but since you insist I'll have to pick up a can or two

Timeline seems to have been pushed back a few hours. Precipitation will just be beginning in Carolina around 7 or 8 pm.

Kentucky on the verge of losing again — at home vs Georgia

Take Coach Abe off the hot seat . Dawgs are 18-3 (4-3) with wins over ranked Ole Miss and now Ky.
Ky gonna fall out of hosting.
When is Key expected back?

Wish schools would report tickets scanned for attendance versus tickets distributed. The difference is significant not just for WBB, but for college sports in general. But the schools want the narrative of sell outs, or 10,000 WBB fans etc. Would also be very easy to report scanned ticket counts.

Nebraska football is perhaps the biggest offender. 85k stadium with a long reported sell-out streak, but sometimes less than 60,000 show up. But all schools report the same way. Would love to see an article like the one linked below for WBB.

@Bjbod as well-why all the angst over tickets sold vs people at the game? All a school can do is sell the tickets they have, they can’t force people to come. Let me give some economic perspective for you, the Big East Tournament tickets are $29 per session for all 6 sessions but for the 3 sessions that UConn will play in those lower bowl seats will sell for $75+ so the value is buying the whole package but who wants to go to the Friday Triple header of 8 vs 9, 7 vs 10 or 6 vs 11? That season draws like 2,300 but tickets sold would be 5,500. There is no secondary market for that Friday game. Same goes for the season games, better seats can be gotten by buying season packages vs individual games. So as a result, mid week games will not get as many Fannie’s in the seats. As that saying goes, and I paraphrase “it’s all about the revenue!”

They keep pushing it back and back. Saw 3 flakes a few hours ago while getting a Cheerwine, pizza and Jimmy John's. I just hope it's freezing rain instead of sleet
Woulda been uglier than a pig roasting on a spit.

Ain't nothing ugly about a roasting pig

As my man Thucydides once said .. The Strong do what they can, and the Weak suffer what they must. Duke (The Strong) 95 PITT (The Weak) 41

Arianna Roberson with 19pts 12 rebounds and 2 blocks coming off the bench. Riley Nelson added 18 points and 10 rebounds.

It is if you’re in the porcine family.

Might head out to pick up some of their family members for dinner 😋 ... dinner courtesy of DWBB

looking at what Georgia Tech's transfers are doing across the country, they could have been challenging for an ACC title with another year together

They had a legit chance to be the second best team in the conference after the team from West Durham.

Wait, there’s a West Durham, KY ?

My displeasure regarding tickets sold versus actual attendance is based on my belief that
it is a bad thing for universities and the NCAA to lie, especially when the truth is readily available. Universities know their scanned ticket counts, and public universities begrudgingly share that information in response to public records requests. But in the meantime, they routinely lie about their attendance. The complication you posit for conference tournament games simply doesn’t apply to regular season games, where universities have made the decision to lie because they think it sounds better to inflate their attendance numbers.

Attendance is the number of people who show up to watch the game. Maryland reported the “attendance” for the Iowa game as 6,514. That was a lie. Maryland knows full well that nowhere near that number of people attended the Iowa game. I’m not picking on Maryland. Every other school in the Big Ten lies too. The NCAA sanctions the lie. The NCAA publishes a yearly “attendance” record book, where the numbers they report for “attendance” bear little relation to the number of people who showed up to watch the games. With the Caitlin Clark ticket boomlet at Iowa, now continuing in her absence, perhaps the biggest lies being told about attendance these days are being told by and about Iowa.

I agree with you that revenue is an important metric. I would be a fan of the NCAA publishing an annual report ranking schools by their ticket revenue.

Ducks break 4 game losing streak beating hapless Penn State 89-59. Lady Lions were missing Gracie Merkle which didn’t help. Didn’t hear why. Sarah Rambus led Oregon off the bench with 20. Katie Fiso 15 pts, 10 assists.

Took her long enough.

Zoe Brooks scored a career-high 37 points, including 19 of 20 from the FT line and NC State picked up a huge road win over a gutsy Virginia team, 78-76, Saturday afternoon. NC State had a 34-18 lead at halftime but Virginia wouldn't go away, going 8 of 12 from THREE in the second half to force overtime.

For NC State, the second consecutive overtime game.

NC State now 14-6 on the season, and all alone in 3rd place in the ACC at 7-2. Virginia is also 14-6 now, 6-3 ACC.

This match up between USC and Michigan today will be interesting to watch. USC gave Michigan State fits during their game on Thursday night. Wondering if they can do the same in Ann Arbor and pull off the upset this time.

Another NFL Sunday with no WCBB games at Noon. Much better to go up against FB games that will get 50 million viewers. 🙄
