Zombies have really soft heads and really tough teeth. Seems incongruous.
Yea looks like she's the psychopath with the rabbits and probably rats at the prison. Looks like they are heading in the Ben/Billy thing from the comics.I enjoyed the episode. I still think Beth and Darryl are headed for a hook up. Very tense when it looked like Lizzy was going to suffocate Judith.
On the Talking Dead they said Gimple (who is a huge fan of the comics) wanted them to be as close a possible (look wise) to the comics. And I guess when we first saw them it was the same clothes, poses from the comic issue 53.And one annoyance is that the 3 new characters look even more over the top cartoony than their comic book characters. Although I am a big fan of the female's outfit.
Agreed, thought they did a nice job with those surprises. And we got Abraham and co. already.I totally enjoyed last night's episode. It was great to NOT see Carl for a whole hour. It was also cool to see what happened with others. I was surprised twice; when Tyrese turned to face the camera & was holding Judith & when Carol showed up. Pleasant surprises...
it left me feeling detached. Well can't guarantee what they will do in the TV series, but that would be almost exactly opposite of the comic book Abraham. I think he's was more of the rough on the outside but secretly good guy. But again, who knows what they will do with him here.*I don't want spoilers, but please reassure me that Abraham isn't going to be a pretend helpful secretly evil guy. I cannot take that again.
Some of the criticism I've seen of the episode is pretty harsh, lots of unrealistic etc.. I didn't get that deep, just watched and felt blah. But your point reminds me specifically that Tyreese's actions were beyond dumb, he's not long for the ZA world if his entire persona is brute strength and go running off in direction of any random screaming. I've got Carol +300 in their death match.Well can't guarantee what they will do in the TV series, but that would be almost exactly opposite of the comic book Abraham. Not sure if they need Abraham, Tyreese and Daryl. They might (might) all fill that tough, Rick's right hand guy character????
Yea having him leave them in the middle of the woods to go....who knows where (and will he ever come back??), ....doesn't seem the best idea. Not sure about dragging the girls and a crying baby into danger would be a good idea either though. ??? He's kinda screwed with 2 girls and a baby to take care of. Carol was probably a sight for sore eyes. Some of the criticism I've seen of the episode is pretty harsh, lots of unrealistic etc.. I didn't get that deep, just watched and felt blah. Yes, all obvious when Carol emerged. That's the other criticism I agree with though is she & Abraham appeared out of thin air which seemed more comic book fan service/faithfulness than good TV. No doubt at this point that Kirkman is driving force. I expected if/when Carol & Tyrees hook up with Rick or Darryl their memories won't be as good and that might be how he finds out. Be interesting if Carol makes any effort to gradually confess.Yea having him leave them in the middle of the woods to go....who knows where (and will he ever come back??), ....doesn't seem the best idea. Have to remember Tyreese was never told about Carol. Didn't even know she hadn't come back to the prison with Rick. I liked how quickly she realized he didn't know and went right along with the story. I imagine her plan is to use his strength to keep them alive, but if anything goes down (i.e. when Tyreese finds out) Carol's taking the kids.
Eh, people do that alot in TV shows too. But, eh maybe.Yes, all obvious when Carol emerged. That's the other criticism I agree with though is she & Abraham appeared out of thin air which seemed more comic book fan service/faithfulness than good TV.
Gimple is supposedly a huge comic book fan, so it's probably him as opposed to Kirkman. From Kirkman interviews, he thinks it's cool when his comic book comes to life, but he also really likes new stuff. Stuff happening to his characters that he didn't think of.No doubt at this point that Kirkman is driving force.
My guess is, they may keep two groups for awhile. Just a guess though. Rick/Carl/Michonne hooking up with Glenn/Tara/Abraham&Co. while Daryl/Beth find Tyreese/Carol/Girls. Not sure what they'll do with Maggie/Sasha/Bob. Maybe Maggie is the only one who makes it of those 3. Leaves Maggie to find her sister or her husband???I expected if/when Carol & Tyrees hook up with Rick or Darryl their memories won't be as good and that might be how he finds out. 2) Zombies have really soft heads and really tough teeth. Seems incongruous.
I have not read the comics and don't know if the new trio is supposed to be menacing or humorous but it seems the two male characters may have been the wrong guys. Not into them so far even tho its been one episode.
Looks like they are trying to stay close to the comics with these 3. In the comics they came from Houston. So in the apocalypse, it does seem to take some time to get from place to place. You stop for awhile where you can get supplies, may have to go out of your way for safety reasons. Get in groups, groups break up or disintegrate. And fuel and vehicles don't seem to be in large supply (well depending on which way the want the plot to goQ: Why after a year past the apocalypse haven't they reached DC yet?
)It's TV. There are quite a few things that aren't congruent. Gas really doesn't stay good that long, how can people who survive this long all of a sudden become inept, there's lots of things. It's a show about zombies and the apocalypse. Either you like it or not. I'm not a big zombie fan, but I like the moral dilemmas they get put into. What's right/wrong (and in who's opinion) in the apocalypse as compared to before, etc.I've always wondered how one could smash a walker's skull like it was an egg and how, at the same time, their flesh-ripping bites would put a lion to shame.
They seemed to worry about that the 1st season. In Guts, they put on shields and lab coats when they chopped up that one body. I don't know if it has to do with the virus is already in everyone, so that it's when you die you turn, regardless of if you are bitten. If you are bitten, it's more like rabies or something that causes you to die, not necessarily turn. I don't know, but yea, they don't really seem too worried about it now. (or it's just too much bother for the writers to figure out how to protect people from blood splatter - heck everyone would be infected now)And if one gets infected with a bite (saliva?), how does one stay uninfected splattered from head to foot with walker blood that remains on your dirty clothes for weeks?
I really liked last night's episode, particularly the Rick in the house and Michonne in the house parts. I'll have to wait to see where they go with the new characters, but the people who've read the comics, are really big on Abraham.I thought the first two episodes were pretty solid. But with the introduction of these over the top cartoony characters, I don't think this is must watch for me anymore. I will dvr the episodes and catach up when I have time. Dissapointing, the first two seasons were fantastic tv.
After the cereal part where the prestigious yet defunct GM Saturn young actors nomination committee nearly rolled over in their graves when Carl tried to laugh and appear jovial, the stuff with him & Michonne was good. The bodies in the bedroom was chilling.I really liked last night's episode, particularly the Rick in the house and Michonne in the house parts. Some of the stuff they are doing now is kinda suspenseful. I like how they are doing that, without having a lot of "big" stuff going on.After the cereal part where the prestigious yet defunct GM Saturn young actors nomination committee nearly rolled over in their graves when Carl tried to laugh and appear jovial, the stuff with him & Michonne was good. Yea maybe. But him under the bed was very suspenseful, even knowing he is not gonna die. But as to the clearing rooms, usually they are clearing them for walkers, not so much living people??I am a seller on Rick staying hidden under the bed and the home alone invaders not immediately noticing that someone had been living there and searching thoroughly (clearing rooms is going on in other storyline?!), but once Rick was out from under the bed it was fine. I could practically see the comic book strips with Rick trapped beneath a bed. Rick leaving the door ajar after strangling the guy for the saving Zombie attack was a nice touch.
He's in love.Glen deciding to walk off and punch and inexplicably deck the army brute was just silly nitwit behavior.

Interesting take. I don't think it turns out that way from what I've heard about the character in the comics (although that could be different in the TV show), but hadn't thought of that.Eugene seems to be the comic book reader surrogate, a Kevin Smith-ish glorification of the adult comic book reader somehow being the coolest guy in the Zombie Apocalpyse room.
Well Sasha hasn't done too bad. She seems strong and intelligent. I think they could do more with Tyreese. And I'm not sure about Bob. (think he was a white guy in the comics anyway)Overall I like the episode b/c of Michonne's parts. Finally they have an African-American with a real speaking role and credit that 2yrs of her nonsensical brooding has made her opening up justifiably good character development.
Still not sure if that first guy (fighting over the bed) died or was just WWF choked out.
That's kinda what I was thinking. I know in the comics there is some group they have trouble with. The Survivors??? I was thinking that might be them??? And the guy on the porch I think is/was in Sons of Anarchy?? I think Jeff Kober per Google.I'm thinking he was just choked out cold. Being that he's the only one that saw what Rick looked like and could identify him later on -- I'm sure that crew will meet up with Rick and co. again down the road and that dude will point out Rick as the guy that killed their guy, especially since their leader (on the porch) is a recognizable actor.
