I've been waiting a long time for Ben Maycock to get a chance to be in the lineup. Now that he has that chance, he may be playing his way out of the lineup. With the exception of that homer against Michigan on the opening weekend, he hasn't done much offensively so far.

Game over, UNO wins 8-3.

New Orleans against AAC teams year to date:,

Beat Tulane 10-1 the other day.
Beat UConn 8-3 tonight.

Interview cuts off at the end so maybe a more complete one will get reposted. Pitching problems, too many leadoff walks. Penders says it was a miracle that they were down only 4-3 going into the 8th. Overall, a bad performance in all areas of the game.

One of those days that I'll be posting at times, and other times I'll have to be away from the computer. I'll probably be in the car on our way to a folk concert for the end of the game.

Yup... dinner reservations @ 6p. Not my call.

Bottom 1st, Dunlop gives up a two run one out homer. 2-0 UNO.

Dunlop gets the next two outs. 2-0 UNO going to the top of the 2nd.

Top 2nd, Crawford with a lead off double, Christian Fedko follows with a single, but Crawford thrown out at the plate. Double play ends the inning. 2-0 UNO.

Not looking good for Dunlop. Single, wild pitch, then a triple, then a sac fly makes it 5-0 UNO in the 2nd.

Top 3rd, scoreless inning for the UConn bats. Ben Maycock with his eighth strikeout in 17 official at bats. Maycock is a guy with potential, but that is one stat he is going to have to turn around to be successful. Dunlop still on the mound in the bottom half of the inning.

Top 2nd, Crawford with a lead off double, Christian Fedko follows with a single, but Crawford thrown out at the plate. Double play ends the inning. 2-0 UNO.
Can’t send Crawford there down 2 with no outs. Should have been 2-1 after Gozzo hit into the double play. Instead, quick inning. UNO has all the momentum.

Bottom 3rd with one out, Dunlop gives up two more extra base hits to make it 6-0. Angus Mayock coming in to pitch.

Top 2nd, Crawford with a lead off double, Christian Fedko follows with a single, but Crawford thrown out at the plate. Double play ends the inning. 2-0 UNO.

Give UNO credit. They’ve embraced the underdog role in this series and have hammered our pitching. Our offense aside from Bushling, Crawford, and CFed continues to struggle.

Mayock's first appearance since coming back from his injury, and he just can't throw a strike until just now. 8-0 with Mayock coming out with baserunners all over the place. Jimmy Wang coming in just back from his bad back and illness.
