Apart from the lack of home run power (we miss Pat Winkel) I have no complaints about the offense 9 games into the season. If we find consistent starting pitching on Friday or Saturday, we will make the NCAA tournament. If not, we're screwed.

Today’s lineup, with Wink in the 7-hole, should stick. Stock’s approach at the plate makes him an ideal 2-hole hitter. Bushling, Jefferson, Fedko^2, and Gozzo have all been good. The 8 & 9 spots have been a revolving door thus far. Brodnansky will be fine at DH, if Stock is not there. Whoever grasps hold of the 3B spot will continue to round out the lineup.

People missed that Crawford had a homer at the end of the Saturday rout. He will be and is a big power threat.

Waiting for the return of David Langer. I'm sure he will get a big look at 3B when he gets back. It also wouldn't surprise me if Todd Petersen gets some more starts there as well especially if Langer remains out.
