This sounds like a lot of speculation for clicks.
I think a lot of these points are strong indicators, especially Hurley and the rise of WBB

It gives a possible retrospective insight into our recent football hires and portal pickups...

I believe the Big East Contract opened some eyes . If The Big East
average is $7,000,000 it does not mean the Market Value of each team is equal
to that number
I like to play around with numbers and I created a simple spread sheet with weighted values .This obviously is an image but on the sheet I could model various weights as long as totals stay constant. .
UConn Value to a conference is huge because of the success of men’s and women’s basketball. whose games get as high or higher ratings than many men’s games. If UConn value is anywhere near this value in a Conference of smaller privates what’s it’s worth to power conferences just for basketball
So the fact that we are more attractive than we have been lead to believe is pretty
factual
UConn‘s 2 is based on 1.4 weight for men .6 for women which is pretty difficult to argue with. DePaul gets a zero because they can be replaced by most any team without effect

Bradley??? I think you mean Butler - or is that a Freudian slip for Brad Stevens?

If the Big 12 really believes that the ACC is going to collapse, why make any additions at this point in time?

My concern is the opposite happening where ESPN moves Big 12 teams to the ACC to build the ACCN. In addition to the B1G taking TCU and Utah to get into two big markets. The SEC could be interested in KSU, ASU & Arizona. What’s left of the Big 12 at that point? Their Achilles heel is not having their own TV network.

Didn't someone in a WBB thread recently post about hearing B12 rumblings?
Yormark coming to Storrs to meet with Benedict and tour the campus, is not rumblings. Lol. The question now is what does the Big East do without UConn, and what is the price to leave?

You lost all credibility when you said TCU to the Big 10 and KSU to the SEC. If you take FSU and Clemson out of the ACC, the Big 12 has much better brands than the ACC based on football TV viewers.

The lack of a conference network isn't a concern as the streaming services like Netflix, MAX, Amazon, ... will be looking for sports content in the future.

Maybe the story is being planted (and Zanetto is being used) to get the ACC to add us. I think I read that the ACC can add one more school according to their agreement with ESPN.
If it was an intentional plant I doubt a UConn podcaster is the way you do it. We shall see, but there is cred on the line here. Zanetto’s schtick is pitching out lots of watered down narratives, so I hope this isn’t an attempt to create artificial rumblings with his name tagged to it.

Zanetto better hope some of this smoke he’s kindling has legs or he’s going to be tuned out fast. Just finished his pod and he loses cred when he starts going into UConn’s partner likely(total speculation) being Gonzaga because of “symmetry” dating back to their 90s S16 matchup. If there is one thing the B12 doesn’t give two shi&ts about its dated “symmetry” that is only nostalgic to old UConn fans. Needless to say, the guy is a bit out of touch. He may have some contacts with scoop, but this will be a test of how real and credible those contacts are. This thing dies on the vine without even an ounce of being real, he’s going to be the UConn version of peppermint patty wah wah.
Drake Toll is also an empty wind sack. He recently criticized UConn claiming UConn was begging to get into the Big 12 based on the fact that UConn prepared a presentation for that old dog and pony show where the Big 12 took nobody. Then he argued that UConn doesn't bring enough revenue compared to current Big 12 members. Yeah no sheet, UConn is independent. The guy is clueless. Now the Locked On folks apparently need some new material so they have him talking UConn. Love to see it happen of course but these guys have no idea.

The revenue thing is how I know immediately if someone is a total idiot or not. How they don't realize that 80-90% of these teams revenues come from the league is beyond me. It's only a dozen or so teams that make a ton of money on their merch, ticket sales and sponsorships

I've run the numbers for both the ACC and the Big12 and if you take out FSU/Clemson what is left is pretty much a dead heat. The ACC's got the advantage with Miami/Louisville and a couple more up top and then the Big12's mid and lower tier is stronger than the ACC's.

That's the chess match. Big 12 and ACC fans all believe their conference is P#3 and we just have to wait and see. Big 12 inviting UConn would be a super intriguing move, especially for us UConn fans. I know I think Big 12 has the upper hand. The ACC as a former basketball power continues to drop in basketball. Big 12 is on offensive, ACC is hunkering down under the GOR. Big 12 inviting UConn would be a major play and would leave the northern wing of the ACC on very shaky, no, even shakier ground.

Here's the catch... P3 is a Myth. There is only P2. Big12 as far as football is concerned are a jumping stone to the B1G and SEC.

There's always been tiers in college football from a performance standpoint (P5/P6 if you add in the BE FB era) on down to the mid major FBS and the money has always been spread out equally within conferences. Now, the money for the B1G and SEC has broken far and wide from the other two (ACC and Big12). If one or both of the ACC and Big12 survive, they'll remain conferences that only every-so-often get a team to outperform their pecking order. The only thing in question is whether the B1G/SEC construct an official walled garden between themselves and everyone else.
