I'm sad because UConn's Basketball Programs are worth more than Cincy's entire Athletic Department.

The ACC seems pretty locked down and the FSU public tantrum strategy seems to have backfired with low interest from the P2. Strengthening the B12 now puts them in a better position to get whatever ACC teams they want down the road with a stronger bargaining position. I think Yormark sees the B12 as the future P3 league. He's probably right. We have a strong athletic department overall and a beautiful campus. Championship basketball, and improved football with an on campus atmosphere only helps them.
You have no idea what interest from the P2 is. Lawyers will have advised them to keep their damn mouths shut lest they be sued for tortious interference with the ACC’s contracts with FSU.

read the pete thamel article in espn, there’s no support from the presidents for this to happen and a vote is not even close to happening.

your poor and desperate huskies are basically willing to come for free until 2031 provided you spend enough money on football. pretty sad if you ask me.

hate to see my huskie bros being used as a pawn to put public pressure on the acc.

I always take black/white views with a grain of salt. It usually means a hidden agenda. He says NO support, not even happening. Ok.

Isn't 20% the going rate for a basketball only?
There is no going rate. Who is being paid by a P-4 to be a basketball only (because ND isn’t being paid what it’s being paid for basketball — it’s being paid that for the guaranteed football games and that if it joins a conference it has to be the ACC)? All there is is internet speculation.

CR Rule #1.

UConn joins B12, FSU/Clemson/UNC leave the ACC and the leftovers join with the top of the B12 to form a true P3 and UConn is left holding the bag again in a AAC level B12.

Or UConn joins the BIG12, FSU/Clemson/UNC etc join the BIG/SEC and Yormack poaches the 7 best ACC leftovers for a 24 team P3. BC is forced to join the AAC.

UConn needs to get football up to the top level ASAP so we can be part of that discussion vs being left behind. We need to think big, and have a plan to execute.

If my quick view was correct, the B12 had 4-5 programs ranked last year not named Texas or Oklahoma.
Yes, 15, 16, 18, 22, 25. It would be the 4th best conference after SEC, Big 10, and ACC. With Baylor down, they have no top tier teams.

So the best bball conference and 4th best football conference. How’s that compare to the 3rd best bball conference and indy football?

ESPN and Fox aren't going to let the B1G and SEC pick apart the Big 12, why would they want Big 12 schools in the SEC and B1G at a higher rate? Look at the comment about Fox maybe not wanting to chip in because they already have UConn in the Big East.
After taking Texas and Oklahoma, the SEC has no interest in other B12 schools, even of they were available. They add no $ value.

I would imagine the folks at the Big Ten feel the same way.

Building on your point. We have to have a 10-20 year view. And to me its not out of the question that after we spend 10-15 years in the B12 we end up in the grand daddy of them all, the B1G.

But we will never make any such leap without this next step to the B12.
Some of us are looking at a 5-10 year view before a heavenly viewing scenario. I wonder how much those seats cost.

Edit: Missed opportunity to declare the greatest EXIT of all!

They were talking about women's basketball not football.

Does the SEC want those teams? Have Florida and University of South Carolina changed their minds?

Don’t care, but FSU and Clemson certainly are assuming they’ll get into one of them. as long as we get into the Big12 first then I’ll sit back and watch the leftover ACC teams kill themselves trying to get a Big12 invite
