I've already prepared my narratives for either outcome.

If he commits to Duke or Kansas or even Western Kentucky he's a pampered, self-obsessed millennial who milks every ounce of attention he can get.

If he commits to UConn he's a kid who relishes the spotlight, somebody who is a confident mother ____, the type of guy who wants you to see him before he kills you. He doesn't brake for convention and he lives to be rejected just because he needs something to do. He never wanted to go to Duke or Kentucky or Kansas, he was waiting for them to pass on him so he'd feel less guilty about shoving the knife down their throat later.

Scumbag or #bleedsblue.

Or......if he chooses someone else....KO can't recruit. UConn is a sinking ship. KO should be fired.

If he chooses UConn.......he should be able to get a recruit in his own state. Vital is going to transfer.

>>He also named Western Kentucky and Syracuse as new schools coming into play. “On Twitter–I’m not saying they’re recruiting me, because I haven’t heard from them, but on Twitter, everyone is saying come to Syracuse,” Waters said.<<

??? I can say I've never ever read a quote like that before.

I just heard from Water's dad. Waters won't come to UConn unless this thread gets to 75 pages and is filled with irrelevant posts. We're halfway there..
We can do it!!!!!!

That was my reaction as well. I hope we get the young man, and I don't want to overjudge someone by one statement, but that's a pretty naive view of the world.

Read closer about Western Kentucky and Syracuse "interest":

Notre Dame’s Tremont Waters represents himself well at Jordan Classic, says more than five schools in the mix to land him

Lol?

I keep assuming this is a kid who would be in high demand. Is seriously nobody recruiting him?
Insiders are legitimately saying Syracuse has no interest. "Several sources told syracuse.com that the SU coaching staff has not pursued the former Georgetown commit."

But it seems like Waters is putting them into something like a top 5, even though they're not after him. You'd think you'd put schools in your top 5 who want you. Does nobody want him?

Syracuse seems like is waiting for the Ayala domino to fall. Duke is waiting for Duval. But are these schools going to want Tremont if they miss? I've been under the assumption they would be, but to not even have reached out...

That's what I thought as well. If he's everyone's plan B, they'd at least call him.

Anybody know a good place to get a pastrami reuben?

I Don't even care about a pastrami rueben (wait, I'd probably love a good one, but just don't think of it after marked widespread drop in pastrami quality in recent years notwithstanding some good here and there, such that anything more than mustard on the side is an upgrade and not a sacrilege most places), and I'm out of this thread until the decision is made.

If Tremont Waters wants to come to UConn, then I really want to watch him and would imagine good things. Yes, Tremont, please join the Huskies.

If he doesn't want to come, then the Malik Newman analogy fits best, whether it works out that way or not. Nothing more to see.

And @djct1999 you never answered my question as to whether you'd like to see him in a UConn uniform or not. Sticking with, "It ain't gonna happen," is beating a dead horse. We get it.

I remember Kuran Iverson talking about Kentucky being his top choice when it seemed clear they had no idea who he was.

I am indifferent on Waters. The kid is talented so I will never be disappointed when we add talent. But there is enough that surrounds this kid, that I don't see a long, productive future here. Also, he makes our only strength, stronger. Doesn't truly address a need. We can win with the backcourt we have. In other words, I don't care either way.

watching @tcf15 UConn vs Florida FF highlights and I am convinced Ollie wants to play just like the '14 team.
Which is why Vance Jackson is making a HUGE mistake leaving. He could flourish as a 4 in that system.

If Polley can put on some weight before the season starts, I can see him getting a lot of minutes by the end of the year. A perfect 4 in our system.

You should care, the kid has Lonzo ball type of passing skills and he will make everyone else on our team better because of it. I could see Ollie going to a very exciting up tempo offense with the guard depth we would have with Waters. HUSKYMANIA would be back! and maybe we even get one for the thumb.

It Is never a good sign when a kid confuses people telling him on Twitter to come to their school versus an actual school recruiting him. Juice is not worth the squeeze. Pass .

I think vance would've been a much better version of Giffey but it is what it is. We need three point guards minimum

Could be set up by family to allow Tremont to focus on bb and separate him from the nonsense that goes on around recruiting. I mean it's not like the kid has a Boneyard ignore option. Most fans and reporters fit the description of the average poster in this forum. Kid knows exactly what's going on and this is the method used to push most of the crazies to the sideline.

I don't claim to understand much about the process but from his quotes it sounds like he's enjoying the attention and might wake up tomorrow and choose a college like he chooses which cereal to eat for breakfast.

Vance wants to play the 3

I think TWs recruitment is essentially in his fathers hands. He didn't even know the coaches names, and is talking about Twitter.

Kid obviously loves the limelight, but I think dad is trying to protect him from the sharks so to speak.

I can't imagine W. Kentucky being an option. Once Mitchell leaves after a year, Fremont will be stuck there. If he's interested in fame, that is not the right school.

My guess (not an insider) is that he will be in a uconn uniform by default if duval goes to Duke.
