No. He's not
Yes, he is or else Waters would be ours right now/we'd still have MAL. Or maybe we'd win the AAC regular season for once.

How about national championships? Does that do anything for you?
Please name for me the big name programs in the fantasy world you live in that are objectively, arguably on par or better right now than the UConn brand, since that was the original point. That he wants a big name school. I'll give you a hint, if you get past 5, you're flirting with danger. Double digits and you are out of your mind.
Waters wants to kick the tires again on Duke and Kansas? Fine, no harm there, a reasonable person would. That's all this is about. You can save your Chicken Little shtick for another thread.
It's been 3 years since our last national championship. It's been 6 years since the one before that. We're still big name. RelaxNope, the statement was whether we're STILL considered a big name program. Not whether we used to be. At this moment, it's up in the air. Trying times. But please feel free to continue your convincing yourself from jumping off the ledge.
Larrier, who is a 3 by the way not a 4.Fwiw, Daniels was 2nd on the 2014 team in 3PA, had significantly less FTA than Shabazz or Boat, and averaged basically the same amount of RPG as Shabazz. He was pretty much a prototypical college stretch 4.
Roscoe was pretty much the same type of player in 2011, though not as good, and with a lesser role within the offense.
There main difference between those teams, and next year's team with Waters, is that the 2011 team had Lamb to provide length at the 3 guard/SF spot, and the 2014 had Giffey in that role. Next year's team doesn't really have anyone to fill that spot.

He's right in asking at this exact moment.
UConn - not a Chief Confirm yet you can bet your house on - but as I said a several days ago - KO had to sell him on playing time and the 3 guard lineup and it appeared that had some street creed. So Duke or UConn?
Ha ha not next seasonLarrier, who is a 3 by the way not a 4.

Try looking on the reddit college basketball sub, national perception of the UConn program might surprise you.
I can appreciate that UConn may not be Waters' first choice, but as the Stones say "you can't always get what ya want, but if you try sometimes well you might find...ya get what ya need!"
And he'd get to play with the guy who coached the best 5'9" player in the NBA (by a lot). And another guy who was a PG in the NBA for over a decade. And another guy who won an NCAA title as a PG. Add to that, it's his local team, that won two recent NCAA titles lead by dual PG rosters. There is a lot to sell UConn on here.
From what those more tied in are saying he likes the big stage, and I think UConn isn't what it was in that regard. Anyone who can't see Wichita State as a positive looking at it in that way is deluded. Our stage isn't as bright as it once was. We need more big games against ranked teams.
I would love to see Waters become a Husky. Oh, to have a hopefully reliable shooter again, as well as someone with all-around talent. Given the state of affairs, it would be nice to see him come for a visit and spend time with the team and coach and try to make sure that all our guards are on board with the vision of how they fit together.
Please list the "bigger name" programs right now. As if historical context has no bearing on that evaluation.

I can see why he'd want to play for Duke then, but why Kansas? How many marquee games are there on the Big 12 conference schedule?
