every kid wants to play he could sit on the bench on better teams are u serious?
I'm really curious as to what this guy's other handle is.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't see Vital asking for his release. He committed here ~1 year ago and since that point (even if Waters committed) more playing time as opened up for him. Just wouldn't make sense to me
Louisville was also an option for him. He's not going to transfer higher than that. I suppose if he wanted to drop down. I don't think he leaves if we bring in a guard. He's a good player, tough kid, and we have a ton of minutes. If we win a lot of these 'minutes' problems are much less of a big dealOnly thing that could make sense to me is that since Vital's UNLV commitment was shaken up at the last minute, maybe he originally planned on only joining UConn as stopgap of some sort, since it's his home state and KO convinced him we needed a guard for that year. Is that possible? I have no idea.
Are you Russ's little brother?every kid wants to play he could sit on the bench on better teams are u serious?
That's true, I didn't think of that. That sounds pretty reasonable actually. Regardless he exceeded any of my expectations, and I assume any of the staff's expectations so I hope he stays here for all 4 years.Only thing that could make sense to me is that since Vital's UNLV commitment was shaken up at the last minute, maybe he originally planned on only joining UConn as stopgap of some sort, since it's his home state and KO convinced him we needed a guard for that year. One possible positive and look how the Boneyard changes. Figuring out how to keep players happy is right before your keyboard.
Just have a good season and when that happens most players don't focus on minutes but how they helped. And most likely the coaches are more upbeat making the all around experience better.
a big dude who would be bent over hyperventilating if he tried to go up and down the way UConn likes to play. I seriously hope he is working on his conditioning like his life depends on it (or at least his basketball career). Like fleud, he is the signing that I do not get at all.
I want Waters for a number of reasons but maybe most of all because he can step in on day one and shoot. I love every guard that's come through here to varying degrees, but MAL in my mind would have been a poor man's Adams/AG - athletic but may take a year or two to really get comfortable shooting from deep. Having Adams and AG be the uber athletic guard paired with Waters and Vital as the savvy shooting guard would make me as optimistic for next year as anyone on this board can be.
I like shooters too. We can talk all we want about defense but our big problem last year was we couldn't score - had very long droughts of no FGs.

Boneyard specialtyWay over thinking it.
I have no idea where all of these Vital wanting his release rumors came from. The only thing I saw was a tweet from like Borges saying he was weighing his options.
And at the end of the day it seems like he has bad info because Vital literally said himself "why does everybody think I'm transferring"
Way over thinking it.
IU's Blackmon, Roberts, and Bryant all declared for the draft without agents. Should be an interesting wait
So Duke or UConn?Don't worry he ain't waiting IU out.
So Duke or UConn?
The buzz and feeling in New Haven is he's staying home(storrs)So Duke or UConn?
Actually, I heard nothing. I just wanted to say that once.I've heard the same from multiple ppl. Duke is the pipe dream but he knows that isnt going to happen, UConn is firmly in the drivers seat

I sure hope so. It will make losing MAL a wash at worst. Waters/Diarra/Big and we're a-okI've heard the same from multiple ppl. Duke is the pipe dream but he knows that isnt going to happen, UConn is firmly in the drivers seat
Grain of salt, grain of saltI'm hearing UConn.
I'm in a spunky mood.Theres a special place for you![]()
I do to. Lets just hope duke doesnt materialize for him and i think we'll be goodI sure hope so. It will make losing MAL a wash at worst. Waters/Diarra/Big and we're a-ok
Freeman was not a perimeter player by any stretch of the imagination. He could step out and hit a mid-range jumper, but so could Karl Malone. Daniels was, but was also a great interior shotblocker. Smith was a great rebounder and though slight of build, didn't have much of a perimeter game or handle really. But you could argue Alex Oriakhi was the PF on that team anyway. Didn't Charlie play as much as Boone at PF? Better example of your point too.
I'll agree you can use versatile players and win at the college level. But I think you need a strong defending and rebounding center to get away with a 4 that floats to the perimeter. It also helps if you have big guards to make up for it. Larrier is going to take his 3's, you can count on that. We will have to see how this evolves.
vanceThere main difference between those teams, and next year's team with Waters, is that the 2011 team had Lamb to provide length at the 3 guard/SF spot, and the 2014 had Giffey in that role. Next year's team doesn't really have anyone to fill that spot.
