He’s got a twin brother too who my son says is a juco going to Auburn.

He wasn’t all that highly thought of in high school but really his problem was being overshadowed by the most insane wave of talent to come through the state that I’ve ever seen.

We seem to be back in in Dix again so I have no idea what’s going on. Nijel Pack too.

I have no idea how staffs can even figure out who to prioritize.

He’s a 22/7.5 guy on the road who shoots 46% from three. He’s 17/7 and 28% from three at home.

Not a small sample size either - he just was not as good a shooter in his 20 home games as he was in 13 away games.

This kid would be awesome in the backup PG/Diarra role. Only 6’, but elite court vision and passing ability which would work well in our system. Also quick off the dribble. He’s got some of Newton’s game trapped inside of Diarra’s build.
 
With Stewart now back, the needs in the portal have thinned out a bit and the target of attack, to me, seems way clearer.

With Nowell out, the clear need is an impact, veteran point guard, and I'm confident we'll be really happy with the addition on that front. Since Mahaney has just one year remaining of eligibility and Adams/Mullins/Furphy aren't clear 1s, UConn doesn't have the pressure to add only a one-year commitment at PG since the current roster format allows us to add a multi-year eligible guy without long-term retention concerns at other spots.

My buddy who is an occasional lurker (what's up Jared) shared with me a good point that now, the focus in the frontcourt could be add a bigger PF who could either backup or also has the breakout potential to start at the 4, if needed. I guess the question is do we see Stewart more as a 3 or a 4? If he's clearly a 3, which he was this year, then that incoming 4 needs to be a clear-cut starter.

In our offense/defense, I think you could argue there's not a heck of a lot of difference between a 3 and a 4. Or at least I think that's the goal for our coaches with roster construction.

Hearing, getting an offer, and getting a legit offer for a likely starting position are even three different things in the case of what our roster is looking like at PG.

Like I said earlier I think this all depends on the PG we pick up. Mullins isn't defending the 3 IMO. If we pick up a small guard, he's a 25mpg sixth-man and Stewart plays the 3. If we pick up a big PG that can guards 3s like Newton, Stewart is off the bench and Mullins starts.

North Carolina transfer Elliot Cadeau is one of the top point guards in the portal. I’ve heard three schools mentioned here: Michigan, UConn, and USC but there is likely plenty more. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see a school like St. John’s go after him as they lose much of their backcourt and Cadeau is from the Northeast.

The former five-star averaged 9.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game this season for the Tar Heels.

I'm really not interested in a short, pass-first guard with questions about his shooting. Doesn't make sense for our offense or defense at all.

Pass.Short guard who didn’t look good on a bad UNC team. Let St. John’s have him
