TrueIt’s the nature of the business Hornet. It’s probably better for Crocker too as he can get back to someplace that will play the D is comfortable with.
Hopefully he and Cox land somewhere and become successful

Oh God no.We need a sep thread of candidates, but here’s one to get the crowd screaming thru Xmas - there is an NFL DC living in south Windsor who is beloved by the local hsfb coaches.
I would assume Paul Pasqualoni.and who is that?
Bring Don Brown home. Shoot the shot

You don't say?S-T-R-A-T-E-G-Y
I was just making the point that many speculated he was the HC in waiting where Palatine claimed Edsall never hires anyone who would be a threat to replace him.The dude, IMO, should have always been the HC. I am still scratching my head on this one and will forever. However, that ship has sailed and we can't live in the past.
It does suck to see a guy lose his job this time of year, however, for some perspective, the dude's base salary was $300,000 per year.
You don't say?
My issue with this is if the coaches signed recruits under false pretenses. I know Crocker wasn't really involved in recruiting (why, is a different discussion.), but I thought Curome Cox was huge on the trail.
I really don’t envision any recruits leaving over this, unless they completely botch the replacement. If you committed to UConn at this point in time, it’s not because of Billy Crocker. We shall see if any recruits bow out....but regardless of coach I feel Randy probably sold them on "our defense can't get any worse and you are the guy to help us turn it around."
Regardless of the message, and regardless of what the NCAA tells these 17 year old "athletes" (They're supposed to commit to a school, not a coach), recruits commit largely based on the rapport with the head recruiter. We shall see if any recruits bow out....but regardless of coach I feel Randy probably sold them on "our defense can't get any worse and you are the guy to help us turn it around."

Thinking back to his Lion's days:
Al Golden: Current Lions LB coach, former Temple head coach
Bill Sheridan: Current BC D-Line coach, former NFL DC
Teryl Austin: Recently fired Bengals DC (pipe dream I know)
also,
DJ Durkin?
What difference does the salary make? The guy didn't do his job whether it's $30K or $300KIt does suck to see a guy lose his job this time of year, however, for some perspective, the dude's base salary was $300,000 per year.

I think Randy/UConn should have done this right after last game or wait until after New Year - week before Christmas just sucks and looks bad IMHO

The last I heard, Edsall said he will not have a spring game this year. He replaced it with a camp for kids.I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but the spring game/scrimmage will be an absolute must this coming year for me and many of you. Can't wait.

Poaching Sal Alosi?
Give me Andre Dixon as a S&C grad assistant
Just curious - you still a theology guy? These are really the only guys who deserved to get fired. Cox was a really bad coach and Crocker orchestrated the worst defense in history as well as recruiting basically nobody
True
Hopefully he and Cox land somewhere and become successful
