Well then you had better get some friggin' spray paint out, because that is a Washington Husky, my friend! I root for the UConn Huskies...

i was going for the size not the color....i love dogs, but i will spraypaint a bit*h if i have 2:D

The UConn Husky is an all-white Siberian Husky, pretty non-negotiable. Unless it's this:

And this is what a Washington Husky looks like:

.-.
Oh, but reality hmmmm. They're probably gonna replace the gray in the block C with red or something monumental like that. I'm big fan of using red more than gray in our accents.

And yet again, what a UConn Husky looks like. Notice how we blend in the snow, even when it's not 3 feet high and blocking I-91:

Am i the only one in the world that likes the Husky logo with the tongue hanging out? He seems friendly and that's been the logo since I can remember and it's the logo we won 3 NCs with in bball. It's what people recognize. The UConnblog logo reminds me too much of N Illinois' or Washington's.
Matt are you forgetting the woman's championships? That and our great soccer teams? I love our Husky logo with the tongue. A tradition that should continue...

Personally I kinda like the Block lettering with the Blue or While outline depending on what the base color is. I'm hoping we can do something with the Connecticut State Outline, Similar to what ASU did here, I always that this was pretty cool

Wasn't the center logo of the court on the Fieldhouse an outline of CT?

Excellant point Dan. Three Huskies, much like three wolves, would have enormous magical powers.

BTW, is the Husky as mascot really a play on Yukon<>UConn? Never saw that confirmed anywhere.

.-.
That new Oregon State logo is actually not bad at all. The name "Beavers" can be easily left out of the logo now. Pretty impressive. Gotta "be with the times", I presume. Given the changes Arizona State and Oregon State (and New England Patriots) have made, I expect a space-age husky. Our present (and soon-to-be old) logo will go down as classic, no matter what.

We need someone to leak the new Huskies logo.

As others have posted, above all else, wins gets the name out there. But I would like to see some changes, as well. We have talked about this before, but here are some things I would like to see:

Stadium/Game Atmosphere
  • Have an actual, real live Husky(s) on the field during the game. Every team I have seen with an animal mascot has the real live thing. Heck, if LSU can get a TIGER on the field (it is in a cage, but you get my point), why can't UCONN have a couple Huskies? We all know UGA the Georgia mascot, he is always on tv. Ralphy the Buffalo looks like he could trample half the people on the field, and Colorado runs him out. Would love to have a husky(s) run onto the field, even if they are on leashes escorted by handlers, when the team comes out of the tunnel.
  • Really promote the Husky walk, I think someone here talked about painting paws on the street.
  • Get rid of the lame DJ. Please.
  • Start some tradition with the crowd. People think chanting Blue! . . . White! is stupid, but it is something to do between a quarter. (LSU shouts Go! Tigers!)
  • Lets get a UCONN song for the student section, and everyone, to dance to. Wisconsin has "Jump Around". When that song came own at Camp Randall Stadium, everyone was going insane:

Isn't the real Jonathon on the field every game? Handled by one the fraternities - ?Alpha Phi Omega maybe?.

Is it every game? I do remember seeing a husky on the sidelines occasionally. That just goes to show they don't show Jonathan enough. Put him on the big screen!

Check out this Gonzaga alternative uni. Do not like.

That's this year's Nike Elite uniform -- unfortunately, our men's team wasn't chosen this year, but our women's team was for our game at Notre Dame, I believe. They will probably be sporting something similar -- not sure when the images of our uniforms will be released (or maybe they have been already).

the issue is were never going to be michigan or bama or usc. when were 100 they will be 200 age wise. so in the mean tim in order to close the gap any way possible we should be doing. if thats giving our brand a 1up, then do it. in bball we will never be the 6 blue bloods. were winning our way towards there stat lines but its simply a tradition thing. but once the mania kicked off, what did we do? we tried to play big boy any way possible and that includes back then changing/updating our brand. we have done it once before actually twice. but ppl here think im nuts.

Then why change logos to match the dozens of other Huskies in college and HS? UW, Northeastern, and NIU all use a version of the black and white husky. As for the block C, it's unique, same for the term UConn. They are valuable if underutilized.

My biggest issue is the use of italics for UConn and the "C" logo in women's basketball. Please, no more italics... it's so bush league.

We need more alternate uni's... For basketball we have blue, white and grey. The grey has grown on me, but how about a "HUSKIES" on the front of the jersey occasionally? Yes, there are plenty of other huskies out there and it's not representing our full UConn brand, but we are the real huskies! Don't let those UW posers out play us. For football, let's not go full Maryland, you should never go full Maryland, but we should have an alt uni with some zip.

It would be like the Stanford Cardinal taking their tree and putting teeth on it to make it look like a nastier tree.

Hmmm. This Stanford tree does have teeth:

But it looks sickly and perverted. They really should get a nastier tree. The new Stanford logo:

Classic!!! And by the way, I'd settle for being the sickly tree...;)

This really needs to happen. Just put Noonan on the big screen smiling and asking us to cheer politely.

I think this has been mentioned but for the love of God, we need to not have the spirit squad hold up the U-C-O-N-N letters during timeouts and stuff. That is a sacred chant to be used during big momentum swings in basketball and after long gains/TDs and forced turnovers in football. They are completely cheapening it and taking away the meaning.
