I think I remember Jimi Hendrix playing like that at Woodstock....that Boeheim knows how to play one mean microphone. Even Jimi couldn't get feedback like that.

And do you think he touched that micro phone with the same finger that he picks his nose ?

Give him a break. He doesn't know where that microphone has been. It was lying around Bernie's office, Laurie was around.

They look much better this year than I care to admit, but...damn, they have a real knack for recruiting unlikeable players.

Are you telling me Devendorf wasn't likable???

At some point in the season Syracuse always finds a way to self destruct.

National Championships:

  • [ ]UConn - 3
    [ ]Syracuse - 1
    [ ]3 > 1
NBA Points Scored:

  • [ ]UConn - 139,602
    [ ]Syracuse - 120,125
    [ ]139k > 120k
Current NBA Players Total:

  • [ ]UConn - 13
    [ ]Syracuse - 5
    [ ]13 > 5

I really don't know why we argue with inferior people.
It was funny. One of the comments on their board was laughing about the fact that 3>1 was our whole bit. They actually made the "Is Robert Horry better than Michael Jordan?" comment. The difference between an individual's titles in a team sport and a team's titles in a team sport is huge. We can't say that Robert Horry is a better player than Jordan because of the total titles, but we can say the Bulls are a better organization historically than the Rockets because they have more titles.

I'm insulted. There's much more to our bit than that. We also have 1 = 1 (CCNY, Holy Cross, UTEP, La Salle, Loyola-Chicago, Wyoming = Syracuse).

If they win another one, they tie San Francisco. But to their credit, they are one closer than St. John's.

haha that board spikes my blood pressure.

all any of them ever talk about is UConn getting left in the AAC, like that's somehow an accomplishment for Syracuse.

still pisses me off though, because we are stuck in this dumpster conference.

Look, in all seriousness, the ACC is a great conference for Syracuse - they can slide right in and start playing second fiddle immediately.

Their natural subservience is perhaps their greatest strength.

The Syracuse fans dump on us about the conference because that is the ONLY thing they could say. The numbers dont lie, just like many of you pointed out already. The thing that gets me is how stupid they sound when they try to make it like they have such a storied history of success that goes back decades and UConn is a new program. Its like they give us the Moe Green speech how "they were making their bones while we were going out with cheerleaders" They are still living in the 80's and that decade of Syracuse basketball fails in comparison to to what UConn accomplised between 1995-2005.

As i said before, numbers dont lie. So lets take a look.
Syracuse- 36 NCAA Tournament appearances
UConn. 31 NCAA Tournament appearances

So throughout through "storied history" when they were dominating college basketball while UConn did nothing...all that adds up to is they have a total of only 5 more NCAA tournament appearances than we have.

Fodder for the trolls:
- The Syracuse area is a mess. There is no stopping that slide. Sorry.
- Syracuse University is undergoing a transformation. Not a complement. When your (former) chancellor explains that the school is undertaking a more socially benevolent mission - or that admissions is suddenly focusing on metrics other than SATs as a better success measure - she means that the students they really want are wising up; thus less accomplished students are enrolling. This has been the case for a while now.
- Syracuse football fans are not coming back to the dome and it has nothing to do with your coaches. Isn't your schedule either. Marketing, nope. It is because your team is now a loser, your facilities suck and your commutable population is growing old. Nobody able to afford tickets will replace them. See my first point.
- The reason that opposing fans don't travel to your games is because your school is in the middle of an ugly nightmare. It's not them, it's you.
- Don't worry about the UCONN endowment. Uconn gets state money equal to about half of your endowment each year, just to keep the lights on and make capital improvements. State funded facelifts and private development will continue for some time. Storrs will grow beyond a cow town. SYracuse will eventually be reclaimed by weeds.
- Bragging about mythical "brand" is what you do when you don't win championships. Incidentally, trophies build "brand" better than T-shirts.
- Talking about Earnie Davis and the other guy doesn't impress people. I think it may depress them. I genuinely feel bad for the people that brag about these guys. It makes me somewhat happy that our football team has no distant history.
- I visited your board recently. You posters seem on balance to be a duller bunch than the guy's that post here. There are more members here and generally more guests. It is because this is a smarter and more entertaining board. Your mods need to cull that crew substantially if you want to make it readable.

The only fanbase that could overlook that they had a pedophile as their long time assistant/best friend of the coach to laugh at our laptop scandal. This rap sheet makes our program look like it was run by Mr. Rogers.

They have a total of 5 NBA players on the NBA. I think this is more than usual, and Michael Carter Williams actually looks really good so they are going to have 2 good in the NBA at the same time! I don't consider team cancers who hide from their team claiming to be sick as good players (Waiters).

At least they have this guy as their next head coach. I'm sure elite recruits will be lining up for a chance to play for this lifelong, anonymous assistant.
.

I assume you arent counting Carmelo as one of those good players? Because trust me, as a Knicks fan I know all about him, he's a selfish extremely overrated player.

Eh, Kentucky only beat Ohio State by 2 and they squeaked by Princeton on a last second layup. They were good, but probably not the second or third best team in the tourney. Arizona, though, was unreal in that tournament.

If it wasn't Kentucky, who was it? The prevailing wisdom heading into that tournament was that Ohio State was the team to beat, but I think that Buckeye team was a bit overrated. Kentucky went toe to toe with them, and you didn't really get the feeling it was much of an upset. If those two teams play ten times, I have to think Kentucky wins at least four of them, probably five. Duke, Kansas, and Pitt were the other three one seeds. Pitt had a really good season, but they definitely were not playing their best basketball at that point in the season. You could probably make an argument for Kansas and Duke, but Arizona trounced Duke and Kansas laid an egg against VCU. Just as will be the case this year, I think it was all about match-ups that tournament. If we had played Ohio State or Duke or Kansas, I'm not sure how well we would have matched up. Relative to this team, the 2011 team now seems like the '92 Dream Team on the interior, but in reality we were pretty thin up front and had a freshman Roscoe playing most of the minutes at the four. The Morris twins would have caused problems for us, and Duke and Ohio State had two players - Irving and Craft - who were capable of neutralizing our biggest weapon (obviously Craft wasn't on Kemba's level, but he was a lock down defender even then).

and what exactly did Cuse do in the 2011 NCAA tournament oh yeah they lost to 11 seed Marquette in the second round, who were destroyed by UNC in the next round, Cuse was a 3 seed just as we were that year but we thrived while Cuse chocked. We played a better Cincy team in the second round, who was a 6 seed that year.

We don't have to defend ourselves to anyone. We played 11 elimination games in a row, won them all, and thereby tripled - TRIPLED - Cuse's national titles.

This is basketball, not football. National titles are won on the court and we did, over, and over, and over again. That's all there is to it.

They're trash, everything about syracuse is too. screw their inferiority complex

They dominated the Northeast from Dave Bing on........until Jim C came to Storrs in the mid 80's and won an NIT in 88.........then from the Elite 8 in 89-90 they have been 2nd fiddle, at best, in the Northeast to UCONN and there is no questioning that. And I can imagine it stings these a**wipes knowing JC won 3 titles while they have ONE in all the years they have been "the elite" program in the northeast........think about how stupid they sound, and are! That crew of misfit fans is entertaining to say the least.......dumb but entertaining!

I swear, they are the easiest group of people to play. Lay out some bait.... Wait a little while for the minions to scurry here and then back....

Just like setting up buckets for chipmunks.

Major case of 'insecto in ano' over there. If you have your head up your ass, you'll eventually succumb to the methane - if insecto doesn't get you first.

They are all trying to perform this maneuver and failing hard.

I feel like some one should remind them that for how good they think their team is, they do not have a POTY candidate and Shabazz is leading (on some sites)

C'mon give them credit. They're a cute program who have carved out a nice little niche for themselves. They are tops in my book (at making t -shirts) . I admire their gumption and determination to be looked at as a major program with a little engine that could mantra: "I think I can I think I can......"
You gotta hand to their fans for believing in a team with such paltry accomplishments, true over-achievers they are.

They are idiots. I don't think it's possible to have a rational basketball discussion with a single one of them in regards to UConn or their team.

It amazes me how dumb they are collectively. Just astoundingly so. I've met smarter UK fans (those who admit Cal is slime). Cuse fans still defend a child molester.

The one good thing about the break up of the Big East is we will now see some of our old rivals in the tournament. You know there's a good chance we will be in the same regional as Syracuse.
