It's funny that they act like the fact that the AAC exists wasn't the result of the game of musical chairs they started.

I dunno. The one-timers club (Cuse, Holy Cross, CCNY, UTEP, Arkansas) is sort of a boring group. Not really worth associating with that plucky group of temporary overachievers.

Wow, pretty sad bunch over there. The inferiority complex leading to such hostility is a bit frightening. The one thing they seem to hang their hats on is our conference affiliation. In a couple years when we're out of the AAC they won't have any material left.

I'm just thrilled to death that they stumbled into that one championship. You don't get the chance to say "Syracuse" and "champion" in the same sentence all that often.

They weren't very good - hell, if you tried to name the last ten or fifteen champions, you'd probably forget that team all together - but they had pluck.

And with pluck and a ridiculously favorable NCAA draw, even a marginal bunch can do great things.

Well, maybe not great exactly, but good enough.

That UConn team in 2003 is still shaking their heads that Syracuse won that tournament. Unfortunate that UConn lost to Texas.

Helms National Champion...Is that sorta like Dook hanging banners for "#1 final regular season AP poll"???

It is a cool trick though, putting those 2 Helms banners next to their Carmelo rent a championship banner and it almost looks like some kind of mini dynasty. Almost.

The year they won it all we smoked them twice by double digits.

If only Marcus White made that layup in 03 against Texas. We would have wiped the floor with them for a third time.

I feel badly for them. They care far too much about others. It's really a depressed area. Hopefully they can win a few games this year and hang another sweet 16 banner. Can you imagine the suicide rate if they were stuck in the AAC? I'm happy for them even if it's the only thing they can win. But now I have to get back to a program I couldnt be prouder of....

The weird thing is all the cracks about UConn ducking out of the NCAA in the early rounds.
Bizarre given Boeheim's history.

Here's an honest question - when you have such a big building and so few banners, what do you do with all that empty space in the rafters?

Drapes? Boeheim's Hummel collection? Their snow pants?

That video is awesome for 3 reasons:

First, that city and area really is that pathetic and depressing.

Second, I kept saying no way in hell the schmucks at ESPN with those prized SU "communications" degrees produced that commercial.

Third, good riddance, losers.

I can't shrug hard enough.

They're held up by an old man coach who started talking years ago about retiring and guess what? When he does go, they don't have Kevin Ollie to replace him.

Literally their only claim to fame is their shiny new conference affiliation, which their basketball program had exactly nothing to do with.

OK- I am gonna be snarky.

Quse is over rated this year and will choke in the NCAAs like they do most years. When JB retires they will fad into obscurity - I see a similar path as BC.

Never has there been a fan base more full of themselves over next to nothing. I hope they enjoy being a perpetual bottom dweller in the years to come. We may be in a crap conference but we are a program with energy and momentum (A NC in 2011 means we are do for another on or before 2016 -DOOMED). They are peaking right now and have some talented players but quite frankly they are still boring to watch. YAWN.

PE-Toowey!!! I spit on them and their boring marginally above average program.
