Guys let's be considerate here. They won 2 Helms National Championships. You know, when the game was played with a leather jacket rolled up into a ball-like object. That has to at least count for 1/10000 of a national championship of today's standards.

I'm just thrilled to death that they stumbled into that one championship. You don't get the chance to say "Syracuse" and "champion" in the same sentence all that often.

They weren't very good - hell, if you tried to name the last ten or fifteen champions, you'd probably forget that team all together - but they had pluck.

And with pluck and a ridiculously favorable NCAA draw, even a marginal bunch can do great things.

Well, maybe not great exactly, but good enough.

I went to their Albany regional games. I remain SHOCKED that B12 Teams played like they had no clue how to attack a Zone. The Coaches need to be permanently unemployed. One after another ... after another. Yes ... just not that great a Team in the context of 34 years since Magic v Bird.

(I'm not engaging in any discussion of Marty Headd)

This is Genius Trolling. Take one of their arguments, turn it on them in a completely irrational way, and leave it here for them to take back and bat around. The fact they can't see it for what it is says everything you need to know about them.

We're beneath them and not rivals, but they can't wait to take the bait fishy laid out there and go ape over it.

Uconn gets 10x the traffic Gtown does on the other side of the fence. Duke? That's just a T shirt.

Anything wafting from Cuse's direction always reminds me of this famous sports quote:

I can't really hear what Jeremy says, because I've got my two Stanley Cup rings plugging my ears.

One big problem with this post.

Where does our 3rd ring go?

I kid you not, someone on their board just said that saying UConn's 3 championships are better than Syracuse's 1 would be like saying Robert Horry's 7 championships makes him better than Jordan's 6

Amazing. Cognitive dissonance. Wackos.

Like I said, morons.

EDIT: I remember once getting temporarily banned for telling them, about a year ago, that Briscoe wasn't a Cuse lock. They assured me he would commit shortly and then banned me. I am still awaiting the commitment.

Saw that...

Pretty sure Jim Boeheim feels the same exact way- why would they want 3 national championship trophies anyways?

I also take special joy in them having fun with our opponents in 2011 championship run.

Hey idiots - you had to play all those 1's and 2's because your crappy cornrowed basketball succubus team-killing ballhog chucker Melo guided them to 5 regular season losses, and an all-too-typical flameout in the BET. Oh, and he still couldn't beat us in 2 tries that year (including said flameout - oops!).

They're using the "BC Bowl defense" for themselves (BC gushing about a bowl winning streak which only exists because they get sent to siberia to play E Buttmunch St - yahoo!).

I really enjoy when they say we think basketball started in 1990. As if 23 years of success is a small sample size.

The modern game of college basketball changed forever with the introduction of the three point line in 86' 87'. There wasn't even a shot clock until 85' 86.

You can basically say we've been on the national map for 23 of the 28 years of the modern era. Before that it might as well have been a different game.

Man we sucked at 4 corners.

My favorite part to read was them saying that our path to our title in 2011 was too easy. If it's so easy to win a national title, then how come Syracuse has only done it once with a rent-a-player?

Our Final Four was pretty easy, I guess. But Arizona was peaking--they had the #1 pick and decimated the #1 seeded Duke--and it was in California--after we beat the 2 seed SDSU with Kawhli Leonard.

Kentucky, Butler, and VCU were not the best teams in the game--Pitt, Ohio State, and Kansas were. But Butler, VCU, and Kentucky did take those teams out.

speaking of delusional - where is that post that claims that if they re-started the football season - Uconn would win 8 games? I would love to read that again..

Butler was not great competition but the fact is, Arizona and Kentucky were probably the second and third best teams that tourney. Arizona destroyed #1 seed Duke. Annihilated them. And the others couldn't hang with Kentucky.

by the way, I don't think Duke has downgraded their championship of the year before over Butler. No one seemed to knock it when Duke won.

This is easily the lamest retort yet.

Has your brain frozen in the hinterlands or something? Thoughts move slowly up there. It should have taken you 1.3 seconds to say to yourself, "I need to come up with something better than that."

Lets not forget the 2011 BET. If Cuse had won the title game they could have easily derailed UConn. They, like everyone else, had their shot at Kemba and Company but couldn't take them down.

that's more of a theoretical conversation, whereas this thread is based more on the realistic fact that Syracuse has won only one championship and their fanbase can't grasp the simple math of [3>1]

If Cooney keeps playing like he is they'll be good. I think they're very similar to last year though not much better even with interior improvement. Fair is playing well but he hides in the lights a lot, he has a lot to prove as do the guards once league play starts. But they are pretty good.

As far as "hating" them they wear the same uni as Devendorf, MCW and other villains so what's to like? LOL......Cooney seems to be typical......

aren't you the one living in Rochester? It's a cloudy 55 here in the nation's capital..

They really do make shirts for just about everything...

I guess my biggest question is how can you drink water and look like that......he would have an excuse and I may even laugh if he was hammered and stupid, instead he's just stupid!

Eh, Kentucky only beat Ohio State by 2 and they squeaked by Princeton on a last second layup. They were good, but probably not the second or third best team in the tourney. Arizona, though, was unreal in that tournament.

Nope, Buffalo. 57 and sunny. Get away from DC, it's rotting your brain, which is no surprise.
