St. John's Post Game Thread

I guarantee you Braylon gets drafted higher than his stats would validate. Playing in the UConn system helps to those that matter.
Saying Braylon is not going to be a lottery pick because of tonight is insane. The kid has elite talent. My guess is a gm in the lottery will agree.
ESPN has him at 13 in a recent mock draft and CBS has him at 25 in another. It sounds like he could go late in the lottery or drop a bit further in the first round.

The DNA line better live up to it's rep this year - we can retire it if they don't make a decent run this year.
The championship DNA isn’t a Hurley thing. It’s not going anywhere.

the play where Alex broke the press to Reibe and then just assumed he was going to bring the ball up was just……say what you want, but those mistakes are just unacceptable from our senior leader.
That to me defined the night. What the hell did he think Reibe was gonna do with the ball. This from our supposedly smartest, 4 plus year player??

Is it less likely to make it as a G leaguer? If you stay in school and improve your draft stock is it less likely that a player would end up in the G league?
I'm just saying even if he doesn't stick on the NBA roster at first I'm sure teams will send him to the G League to develop his game. Not saying he will go to the G League. Either way I wouldn't spend too much time thinking he will come back as he is still a sure first rounder. Take off you Huskies goggles and realize these kids will leave with slightest chance to making the NBA. He is still in the 10-20 range in most mocks. I would like him to come back but I'm not holding out hope that is going to happen in this environment.

BTW, I think it is an exaggeration to think the officiating in the NCAA will be so much better than in the BE. But I do believe there will be fewer teams that can take advantage and know how to play the BE style, like a SJ. It will probably not be the dominant form of officiating we are about to see, IMO.

Kind of like how we were excellent in our OOC and have had a couple tough losses in the big east this year, yeah?
Could be. I believe if they get passed round 1, it’s an elite 8 at a minimum We tend to play down and a scrappy 14 might be a tougher out than a 2nd or sweet 16 game for this team

We shall see - many rely on this theory like a pacifier, all because of the 2023 team. Well that was a very different team.

It’s the lack of calling the physicality with fouls is a what the difference is. This offense will look like it will flow completely differently

Or ya know, this year? I recall us only losing once OOC to the number 1 team without two starters. But sure, call us babies.

Nah, just seeing the OOC games this year, you know when we beat 2 Final Four contenders, plus a dangerous team in BYU and barely losing to number 2. That’s what I am relying on, backed by the history of this team over the last 3 years out of conference and in the tournament.

The only thing I can think of is that it was a designed press break and Alex was supposed to sprint up for a longer outlet pass and Reibe did a one-touch instead, so I’ll give Alex the benefit of the doubt, but stuff like that in championship games just can’t happen regardless of who’s fault it is

Why in the world would he have done that? Seriously, you just inbounded. In the corner. To a freshman. Center. Against thee press team. Why the weren’t you ready to get that ball right back.

Sheeeeyit. Was out with Mrs Dove looking forward to a Sunday morning watch. It must have been excruciating.

I still think there is an NCAA run coming. Final 8 at least.

You didn’t watch the Big East Championship in a rematch with St John’s?!

Cannot hold onto this anymore.

We didn't play up tonight.

Liam was not drafted in the first round.
