St. John's Post Game Thread

I understand what your saying, but it's the NBA evaluators and draft guys that are saying......if you think you are a better evaluator than they are, I get it, but that's who is saying it..
No I get the whole potential thing - his range seems to be anywhere from 10 to 28. There seem to be so many players that look to have more "potential" than him in this draft. I just don't see a lot there. Gonna be curious to see how it lands.

Call me coping, but daddies don’t lose by 32 to their “sons”. Let’s not go THAT far
Well ok but they won the last 2 BE regular season and tourney championships so they own us right now.

I will just say this once for people who haven't sat though countless NBA drafts.

The NBA draft is about potential not performance. That is why most of the first rounders are 20 years old or younger.

That is why Mullins will be highly desired. He has a perfect jump shot and a lightning release. He is 6'6". He moves well. His potential will be obvious to NBA GMs.
I fully agree but lets not waste the explanation to those who prefer not to listen

His potential is higher than many because he is 18 years old....They figure he grows into his body and becomes a force...in a perfect world, he should come back...a 2nd year in college would do wonders for him

The UConn system is the most NBA system in college ball.

I wish they did a lot more dribbling to get around the high screens and dump it off instead of sticking to picks and rolls and looking for 3s.
I guarantee you Braylon gets drafted higher than his stats would validate. Playing in the UConn system helps to those that matter.
Saying Braylon is not going to be a lottery pick because of tonight is insane. The kid has elite talent. My guess is a gm in the lottery will agree.

Right now we're shooting to get our asses kicked by any team capable of shooting 40%+ from the field and that doesn't treat the ball like a live grenade.
Nah. You are wrong. BTW, care to predict how far SJ will go in the tourney?

ESPN has him at 13 in a recent mock draft and CBS has him at 25 in another. It sounds like he could go late in the lottery or drop a bit further in the first round.

The DNA line better live up to it's rep this year - we can retire it if they don't make a decent run this year.
The championship DNA isn’t a Hurley thing. It’s not going anywhere.

No. Just saying many great UCONN teams did very well OOC and struggled in the conference
Kind of like how we were excellent in our OOC and have had a couple tough losses in the big east this year, yeah?

the play where Alex broke the press to Reibe and then just assumed he was going to bring the ball up was just……say what you want, but those mistakes are just unacceptable from our senior leader.
That to me defined the night. What the hell did he think Reibe was gonna do with the ball. This from our supposedly smartest, 4 plus year player??

Is it less likely to make it as a G leaguer? If you stay in school and improve your draft stock is it less likely that a player would end up in the G league?
I'm just saying even if he doesn't stick on the NBA roster at first I'm sure teams will send him to the G League to develop his game. Not saying he will go to the G League. Either way I wouldn't spend too much time thinking he will come back as he is still a sure first rounder. Take off you Huskies goggles and realize these kids will leave with slightest chance to making the NBA. He is still in the 10-20 range in most mocks. I would like him to come back but I'm not holding out hope that is going to happen in this environment.

It’s all bad news. Hopefully something positive happens these upcoming weeks.

BTW, I think it is an exaggeration to think the officiating in the NCAA will be so much better than in the BE. But I do believe there will be fewer teams that can take advantage and know how to play the BE style, like a SJ. It will probably not be the dominant form of officiating we are about to see, IMO.

Could be. I believe if they get passed round 1, it’s an elite 8 at a minimum We tend to play down and a scrappy 14 might be a tougher out than a 2nd or sweet 16 game for this team

We shall see - many rely on this theory like a pacifier, all because of the 2023 team. Well that was a very different team.

It’s the lack of calling the physicality with fouls is a what the difference is. This offense will look like it will flow completely differently

Or ya know, this year? I recall us only losing once OOC to the number 1 team without two starters. But sure, call us babies.
