And I can't see a fourth year played lose confidence in a blink of an eye.Fagnano threw for 289 yards versus Boston College. And that means nothing as well.

Depends on the pass protection. Wasn't great last year. One of the reasons there was no down field threat. Will it be better this year? Dunno. And I can't see a fourth year played lose confidence in a blink of an eye.
Well, good point. I guess I am assuming he is not quite 100%.Things change year over year. if Roberson comes out ahead 2 years in a row he should start even if he has a short adjustment period. I feel like he has a head for the position and it won't take long. We have possibly 4 guys in competition and the future looks very good.
Nah, it's not. Fagnano may have a lot of snaps but none of those were against a team at NCST's level. Wanna see his confidence and poise disappear in the blink of an eyelash? Let him start the first game.
The pass protection was good last season. On sacked 18 times in 13 games.Depends on the pass protection. Wasn't great last year. One of the reasons there was no down field threat. Will it be better this year? Dunno.
Yup...The pass protection was good last season. On sacked 18 times in 13 games.
There was no downfield threat because our starting wrs were hurt… did you not watch any of the games or when Mora/Charlton stated that ZT had to get the ball out sooner and go through his progressions quicker? Mora was quoted saying ZT had enough time.Depends on the pass protection. Wasn't great last year. One of the reasons there was no down field threat. Will it be better this year? Dunno.
Sometimes i really think a lot of you talk about the team way more than you watch. Pass protection "wasn't great last year"? We had two of the top 15 guards in the country and only allowed 18 sacks... think we're fine there
This was also despite the QB hanging onto the ball for what seemed like days back there. And we allowed most of them right at the beginning of the season when the RT was coming back from a knee injury and was getting beat consistently. Once he regained confidence, the protection was damn good.
I admit I don't have the eye of a scout. Even so, there were so many times last season I'm watching and thinking "You got him!" But the ball never got there.Mora was quoted saying ZT had enough time.
Turner was an excellent downfield threat. There was no downfield threat because our starting wrs were hurt… did you not watch any of the games or when Mora/Charlton stated that ZT had to get the ball out sooner and go through his progressions quicker? Mora was quoted saying ZT had enough time.
Yea and I think that was just ZT being a freshman who wasn’t adjusted to the game speed of college. Hopefully now, he is much better and the game speed of college has slowed down in his head.I admit I don't have the eye of a scout. Even so, there were so many times last season I'm watching and thinking "You got him!" But the ball never got there.
I don’t consider AT a downfield threat, yes he has speed but he wasn’t a downfield threat like Clercius or Marion. AT wasn’t going to win 1 on 1 contested catches downfield and teams didn’t really respect any of our wrs/passing game after Marion and Ross got hurt.Turner was an excellent downfield threat.
Roberson is was hailed as a true dual threat so if the go with TR why would they use Zion at all. Nothing against Turner. We don't need to keep anyone happy when everyone is set to return and we are bringing in Cole Welliver
Stats like that can sometimes be misleading. UConn was top 30 in sacks allowed but was bottom 5 in total amount of passes attempted @ 276. Miss State with most pass attempts @ 634 and 26 sacks given up was rated tied for 56th but could argue had better pass blocking OL than UConn (maybe better QB at passing and getting ball out but still lot more chances for OL to give up sacks). Air Force was top 7 in sacks allowed per game and had by far the fewest pass attempts at 87.Yup...
18 sacks > Top 30 in country for sacks allowed in 2022.

I hope McDonald is okay with possibly being #3 or 4 this year. If he's near as good as his film he should be competing hard next year. But I know the fans are already moving on to the next prospect.my "money" is still on Roberson but I think we're honestly better at QB than some think, we have 3 at the very least solid guys
Just keep your eyes on the grill and everything else will work itself out.I admit I don't have the eye of a scout. Even so, there were so many times last season I'm watching and thinking "You got him!" But the ball never got there.
Disagree with this wholeheartedly. Our Oline was not bad last yr. Z was extremely indecisive with the ball most of the year which lead to most of the sacks they “gave up” last yr.Depends on the pass protection. Wasn't great last year. One of the reasons there was no down field threat. Will it be better this year? Dunno.
