would you prefer the few connected people that are left don't say anything?
Actually, yes.

There's hearing it's done, which people here seem to be clued into. and then there's "press conference scheduled" or "the contract has been signed", and until you get one of the latter 2 it's just a handshake agreement.

.-.
If UConn won't confirm it, why did somebody confirm it to you?
Well I obviously can’t officially confirm it, but what I’ve been told has been corroborated by several people tonight so I feel confident enough to post it. Take that for what you will.

Basically, I’m confident enough to say that if I’m wrong, feel free to give me s___ forever. It won’t be though.
Any info on the timetable?
Nothing specific enough to the extent that it’s worth posting. My own take is that I’d be surprised if it wasn’t public by Wednesday night.

Can’t take this much longer. I was ready to run through a wall with the news of Hurley to UConn I was so pumped. Now I feel like like it’s some twisted joke.

Genuinely curious. (S)He is a good poster (surprise, I like someone with stats in the name) and the info makes sense. A better way to phrase my question would probably be "Why do you think your information is better than what is being reported?"

*Edit* And the response above satisfies me.

if we don't hear by end of work day tomorrow I'll be concerned they didn't close the deal

No offense taken I know what you mean. I’m sure most well connected reporters like Jacobs know that it is done, and are just waiting for the ok to make it official.

Normally I wouldn’t post stuff like this, but people who are far more connected than I am have been told the exact same thing as me.

Lol perfect

I was reading a tweet about Leonard Hamiltons deal, nice incentives for stringing multiple tourney years together, sweet16, final fours etc. that's what we want. Toss in getting good grades too. You achieve & then you get paid vs these enormous buyout problems

From URI board:

Calhoun is pissed at UCONN for the way they treated Glen Miller. That is why Calhoun is now the coach of St Joseph’s in Hartford with Miller as his Assoc HC. He waited for his consulting contract with UCONN to expire and then started working for St Joseph’s immediately.

They certainly have their finger on the pulse.

Bruh it's URI. They're not that bright.

Yeah! Calhoun really stuck it to UConn by taking the D3 St. Joes job after he no longer was a UConn employee!

oops. http://openpayroll.ct.gov/#!/year/2018/employee/438921+_0

Probably why Hurley said this the other day:

"As a program, the investments will have to increase, but that's like with any program trying to get better. You have to rely on the expectations with your investment, and these players deserve to operate at the highest level in our league."
Ed Cooley made a point (for Hurley we surmise). That it was a shame that they are not supported more in the beautiful Ryan Center. Hurley has been upset about apathy at URI for a while.

He's hiding out for fear that he will be subpoenaed as the key witness in the case of UConn v Kevin Ollie. It's the right thing for him to do.

It's tough. We can assume KO disclosed his recruiting violations strategy to Chief at Blaze Pizza. If Chief gets called as a witness, he either tells the truth and ruins KO while getting sanctions placed on UConn, or commits perjury. I like Chief's strategy of laying low.
