It was a way to communicate with Hurley's camp without "tampering."Curious how much do we actually pay one of those "coaching search" firms to find a guy about 5o miles away that has been on the boneyard radar for weeks, i'd like a job with them if they are hiring.

If Xavier has surpassed us in terms of brand and pedigree, then the damage KO did to this program was worse than imagined.
Yes. That began earlier today when we starting reading articles on how UConn might not have the money to pay him. Thats agent speak for me let me see how far we can get them to bend. The fact that he's talking to Pitt and URI as well as us just means he's trying to extract as much out of this contract as he should, from whoever is the frontrunner. Anyone who's been coveted in a job search understands this.
FWIW, over on the Pitt board, their most connected poster sent out a message a little while ago saying he has heard Hurley to UCONN is a done deal. Says Hurley always preferred UCONN and essentially asked Pitt for "a blank check." Says there AD is moving onto another candidate.
UGADidn’t PITT already hire Crean? Wasn’t that a thread?

When DePaul got Sammy Mejia to commit, did that mean their brand and pedigree were better than ours?

They're just a good team right now, playing in a good league, and Mack is a good coach. Plus, there's living in a city if a kid is in to that.

I know, it's about the only thing I'm jealous of about URIHEY!!!! They get to SWEAR!!!
I heard that as well a few days ago - also heard Calhoun was ripped when Miller was fired, but I think that was to be expected if not already discussed. Not sure if that was THE reason for the distance between KO and him or if it occurred before that and that was the final straw.Underreplied to post. Would be interested if anyone else knows anything about this.
Damn...Depaul is better than us? When did this happen? In a matter of 20 minutes we went from Blue Blood to Laughing Stock.
He was interviewed on the local news this weekend while at some st pat’s fundraiser, they asked him about coming back and he smiled and said he would always be available to help the school if called upon, or words to that effect.Underreplied to post. Dude my first take away too.HEY!!!! They get to SWEAR!!!
Reading that some of those posters thought donating $20.18 to the basketball program in appreciation of their great year made me embarrassed for everyone involved.Dude my first take away too.
I hope he can find the athletes to run it.There will be ne decision tonight. Word is that Hurley is occupied tonight studying the motion offense in a women's basketball game.
Say hello to Lou Carnesecca!Guess I will have to go back and root for St Johns now.

My guess is that they give the job to David Cox (currently Associate Head Coach at URI). He was their lead recruiter and has done quite well.
I am guessing that Tom Moore will be coming with Hurley to UConn. In a dream scenario, Hurley would have Tom Moore on his staff as lead recruiter and convince George Blaney to make another return to UConn to be his X's and O's coach and sounding board.
