You got to be kidding that recruiting threads don’t veer off into various related topics. As I just stated, who you expect to have impacts who you recruit and the numbers. It’s all connected.

This is more outrageous than the Drummond nonsense

If he is cleared by the NCAA, wasn't arrested, and academically eligible that leaves what?

Perhaps he failed a school drug test?

Your NCAA eligibility is fluid. You can become "uncleared" as it were when new info is discovered.

He either was cleared by the NCAA or wasn't cleared by the NCAA. We know that for sure.

Well Chief does at any rate. The rest of us are waiting with bated breath. #gagorder

If it were criminal would it be public information?

Yes. If it's from last year as intimated, then it would obviously have gone to court at this point, if it were criminal. So it's not.

His NCAA status was wholly related to his transfer though. They don't 'unclear' you after you've 'served your time' so to speak.

This seems to be the most likely reason. Schools don't have to test but they can. Usually the penalty is less harsh if the school catches you. If you fail an NCAA drug test for recreational drugs it's a half season suspension. If you fail a school drug test it can be whatever they want but they have to apply it consistently.

@intlzncster , did you know that you can respond to multiple posts in the same reply by simply hitting the "+Quote" icon in each post to which you want to reply, and then inserting them all in the same post, with your replies under each?

Yes, but thank you. I usually only do that when they are related. Discussions tend to get too muddled for me otherwise. I like to keep the replies short and sweet if I can. In the age of twitter.

Not saying this is the case here, but is regular old marijuana smoking against NCAA policy? For the life of me I can't remember. Nor think of an incident.

I gave up a long time ago on that. I post too many dumb one liners that are amusing for me and maybe like two other people, but nobody else. Makes me chuckle at least.

I'm a function over form guy in just about all things.

I’m one of those 2! Thanks for the shoutout.

Is there any university policy he could break that would prevent him from competition but not from practise? That would suspend him from games but not from school? I feel like a failed drug test would be have more punishment than game competition and would come with an immediate idea of how long the suspension will last.

This whole thing really is baffling and I have a feeling our eyes will roll out of our heads when we get more info.
