Took a look at his bio on the official site. This kid was born two weeks after we beat Duke for the '99 championship. :eek:

So, after 9 pages, can we agree that that situation is what we always thought during his recruitment? He wanted to come here, and family pressured him to stay home and play at St. Johns. Then, when that reality presented itself, he went back and made the decision he wanted to make all along?

Or, Sid didn't really plan on reclassifying. St John's offered bank, so he reclassifies, collects that bank, then decommits to go to his first choice. Enrolls in school and plays in 2018 based on his preferred schedule. Bonus extra year of development under his belt. Sid made the slickest move in history. Ultimate cash grab. Emerging trend?

I'm going to guess that a definitive answer won't come until after the season starts. Have we ever gotten a response on eligibility questions from the NCAA in a timely manner?

They will make a decision in March, declare him eligible retroactively and cost him a year of eligibility. The time lag is that they're not smart enough to think quickly about the best way to screw UConn.

Two issues. If he signed an LOI then it's pretty cut and dry that he will have to sit out a year. And I think he did because SJU issued a press release on him coming to SJU.

If he didn't sign an LOI but he registered for classes at SJU then he'll also need to sit out a year. There is conflicting information on whether he registered for classes at SJU.

I think we should all expect that he won't be eligible until 2018.
