September 2019 WNBA Discussions, scores, game info, pictures

Dang, Howard got her 2nd foul already. She hasn't scored yet tonight but they usually go immediately downhill when she's not on the floor in the games I've watched this year.

6-0 run for Minny, now 23-19.

...called that

Canada and Loyd have 11 each, Russell w/ 5, only 1 other player has scored for Seattle. 29-21 after Q1.

Lynx guards need to be more aggressive.

Whitcomb and KML w/ back to back 3's to start Q2, Kaleena w/ a chance for a 4 point play.

Pheesa getting more involved defensively. May play all 40 minutes.

Edit. Pheesa got a minute rest.

Alanna Smith is in a boot on the Phoenix bench. That might explain why she hasn't been playing at all lately. I hadn't heard anything about her being injured.
I find it very difficult to get information like that. The team’s website should always have injury info, but they never do. I heard about Kristi Tolliver’s injury on the BY before the Washington Post ever said anything about it. The Mystic’s sit didn’t have anything by then.

Dantas leading Minnesota w/ 12 points on 5-7 shooting. Loyd pacing Seattle w/ 15 also on 5-7.

Seattle is going to be very good in the upcoming years. Bird's last season is probably next year, if that. The quartet of Canada, Clark, Loyd, and Howard are so athletic and pressure the ball. Then the much improved Russell can hold it down in the middle.
Next season simply put Stewart in for Russell, and you have an ultra long and athletic starting lineup. With a solid bench to boot, that might also be adding Ezi Magbegor

Minnesota w/ a nice run cutting a 13 point deficit down to 6.

47-41 at the half. Clark's 3 rattled out, then Minnesota didn't get a shot off on the other end as Big Syl seemed unaware of the clock.

7 points 6 boards for Collier, 15 points for Dantas.

Loyd w/ 15 and Canada 13, 7 points/4 boards/2 assists for Russell.

The idea was for Ezi to come in 2020. She has Sue's good friend Lauren Jackson as her mentor. If she ends up being anywhere near what some are saying, Sue might get 1 or 2 more championships before she retires.

That could be the case even w/out Ezi. The 2018 Champion with the improvement of Howard, Canada and Russell is imposing, assuming Stewie is able to return fully healthy.

Howard just picked up 2 fouls in a few seconds, now w/ four. That hurts. 55-48 Seattle at the moment.

Canada is killing Minny. 21 points now, still in Q3.

Collier has been eating up Clark, normally a very good defender.

Seattle has pissed away an otherwise great game in about a 2 minute stretch. Collier hit a jumper to cut it to 3, finally got a bucket by Russell to go back up 5 thru Q3.

Zellous w/ a pair of big buckets to give the Storm a tiny bit of breathing room, up 7 now.

3 for Whitcomb! 10 point lead, timeout Lynx.
