SC vs Notre Dame 11/26/17

Why didn't he @Debbie? Cause he know's she would have flamed him. He is so embarrassing.

what a shoot out... both teams scored 85 or more... defense anyone?
Actually SCar didn't shoot very well but they got to the line a bunch to supplement that. ND lived on lay ups.

Good game by Both teams. I'm not very happy with Dawns coaching this game. ND just had way too many Offensive rebounds and a majority of their players were shorter then ours. Hopefully SC doesn't fall to far but this lost was needed. A young team that didn't give up and missing SR leader Cuevas-Moore and Transfer Tea Cooper. Good luck to ND the rest of the way as to my Gamecocks we need ALOT OF WORK! Wilson can't do it by herself and this lost just assured this team of that.

I note that both Young & Ogunbowle put up 22 points countering Wilson’s 34. That tells me that SC really misses Gray & Davis athleticism and perimeter defense, and ND struggles defending the post without Turner. IMO, the Huskies will exploit both weaknesses when they face ND & SC respectively.

ND's guard play was the difference..................let's see how UConn handles Ogunbawle, Young, Mabrey and Thompson.........................63 points tonight..............

I knew she was capable of it but I am still a little surprised (very pleasantly) to see Jackie Young asserting herself as option 1a alongside Arike.

That is huge and very necessary with Marina off to a slow start.

Honestly was prepared for a loss here. This is a massive win in a long stretch of games away from home. This game Oregon St., and USF are 3 nice wins to have at this early stage.

I was reading the play by play and it seemed like there was a LOT of layups in this game. ND got a few rebounds off their own free throw misses. That should not happen. Not as many as they got.

Great win for ND. But I don't think we will lose at home to them even without Lou. I saw them last week vs Oregon State and thought it was one of the weaker ND teams I've seen since pre Diggins for them. But can't count out Muffet vs anyone.

I think Louisville and ND should be #2-3 right now.

Congrats on a very nice win. Looking forward to the matchup next week.

Agreed that they didn't look great vs. Oregon State, but if you'd seen today's game, you would no longer think this. ND elevated its play today.

Shooting 55% against USC is quite a feat. And they out-rebounded the Gamecocks too. Impressive.

In a complicated world, it's nice that some things, like hating Notre Dame, are sooo easy! Still, I have to give Muffett credit. She remains the second best coach in the game, That status, I'm happy to say, will remain fully intact next week.

For what it's worth on the issue of TV coverage -

I would have thought that contrary to Kenny's theory, ESPN would want to show tonight's game as a warm up to their upcoming televised UConn - ND game

I'm really thrilled that USF is taking on a more difficult OOC schedule, such as in this tourney. We need to be more battle tested, before playing UConn. In this way, we won't be embarrassed too badly. LOL

As a team, we did not play very well against ND. Laksa, however, was sensational throughout the tourney. I believe she grew up a lot this past summer playing for her national team and it is starting to pay dividends:

Congratulations, Kitija for landing on the @GCShowcase All-Tournament team! Laksa averaged 25.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.3 three-pointers per game. Laksa finished 50 percent (27-of-54) from the floor and 62 percent (16-of-26) from long range. #ncaaw

Now your talking out of your . Flohoops controlled all the Games in the Florida Gulf Classic and none of the games were on an ESPN network. I would bet ESPN or even CBS Sports would have loved to Televise Tonight's Game.

Well the "American" supposedly has control of UCONN's games right? Yet they ALWAYS let ESPN cherry pick what they want. You'll never see a UCONN matchup like that broadcast exclusively by SNY. It's hard to believe ESPN couldn't have gotten that ND-SC game if they lobbied Flohoops to have it. We may never know the real story. If ESPN tried for it or not.

Well the Antonelli quote above would seem to indicate ESPN was not interested. Unless it was an "all or nothing" proposition for the entire field(?)

South Carolina and Notre Dame might just be flip-flopped in tomorrow's AP poll:

1. UConn
2. Texas
3. Notre Dame
4. Louisville
5. UCLA
6. South Carolina
7. Mississippi State
8. Baylor

Only top-25 teams to lose this week were:
#14 Stanford lost to #9 Ohio State
#21 Cal lost to #23 Missouri
#24 Arizona State lost to #7 Mississippi State and to Green Bay
(Not a great week for the Pac-12.)

#24 ASU will drop out, and either Oklahoma or Green Bay will enter.
#21 Cal may also drop out.
