Reports: UConn Presentation to Big12 in Dallas on 9/8

Blauds seems to confirm that presentation has happened

It is a two-tiered list: Cincinnati , UConn, BYU and UCF are in the first group and have already been vetted by the Big 12. Their presentations were filled with additional details beyond the basics.

The other 7 schools required more of an introduction and have almost no chance of making the final cut unless some major unknown additions made in their presentations. Most of those schools are being interviewed for political reasons.


- So um is Houston really in the second tier???

Conversely, Austin is home to Whole Foods Markets:
No Whole Foods Markets in Provo
None in Fort Collins
None in Colorado Springs
1 in Orlando
1 in Cincinnati
2 in Tampa

9 in the Houston metro and
9 in Connecticut

Thus, I believe we have identified schools 11 and 12.

I was looking at current members as well as potential members and noticed that Connecticut did indeed have a sonic. This will certainly help as the Okies and Texans will need a place to eat if they come see a game in Connecticut. Add 1 more and you will be tied with WV.

I'd posed this in the Key Tweets thread, but I think UCF was a brain fart/type-o for UH. His subsequent sentence that the other seven need "introductions" to the conference makes no sense if he's implying that Houston needs to be introduced to the Big 12 and UCF doesn't. That's fundamentally insane, UH was in the same conference as some of these schools for 20 years, not to mention they're neighbors so everyone knows who they are down there already. UCF is a newcomer to the athletic scene, they'd need to be introduced.

Was omitting UH from his first tier a typo?
See Blauds' comment posted later, in response to a reader comment. The reader points out that it was a mistake to leave out UH. Blauds doesn't state clearly that there was a typo, but he does indicate UH is very much in the mix.

Perhaps Blauds was assuming the readers would take it for granted that UH would be in. He says best case is for BYU and UH to both get in.

More likely they will add in two stages, #s 11 and 12 will be chosen soon from the first group, and then #13 and #14 may come later and they want to have more than 2 candidates for the 2 spots to increase bargaining leverage, so they are recruiting and evaluating other potential candidates.

If so that would comport with my idea that Houston and BYU are top candidates for delayed addition because they have the fewest conference options of potential candidates and are likely to still be on the table later.

Awesome post. Love Wholefood. The one next to my home also has a supercharger where you can get your car charged while shopping for groceries.

Not fierce looking enough. Wanted the uniforms to look edgy. Unfortunate byproduct is the new logo scares toddlers. In reality, the Husky breed is one of the friendliest around as most dog lovers know.

We got the first and second biggest Indian casinos in the USA...(maybe the third biggest, since the Hard Rock Seminole Casino in Tampa is expanding...

Chili Dogs are good. Plus, when I was at KU, we had Miss Sonic at a Sonic in Lawrence...and she looked real good period, and did the roller skates.

He would come out flat and uninspiring before regaining Bowlsby's interest and confidence only to bungle the presentation in the last minute, leaving Husky Nation with the nutkick of a lifetime.

I think it was more Suzie that the Manual. I also suspect that there was whispering that the white logo looked more Samoyed that husky, which truth be told it did. Take the same logo and make it white, as @Penfield and a few others did I'd be completely with it. I am not a big fan of the new costume "Mascara Jonathan" at all, but it is what it is.

I figure in a few more years they'll change it back for change's sake. I look forward to the "the White Dog is back" campaign.

The 'old' Johnathan was designed by a local artist in Mansfield who based the image on his own pet, an Alaskan Malamute.
