Drummond with 9 points, 6 rebounds after 1Q at Milwaukee (Caron is out). No fouls this time.

Lamb and OKC at Portland for a late game at 10 EST between two of the top teams in the West.

Drummond with 24 & 18 with just a lil over a minute left in the game. With the Pistons clinging to a 6 point lead with 2:30 minute left the Bucks went the hack a Drummond a route and he went to the line and sank both to push it to 8. He missed the next 2 after getting fouled but overall a good night from the line for him, I believe he's at 8/14. On to the Blazers/Thunder.

Drummond ends with 24 points, 19 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. He's playing with more confidence and he's quickly turning his dominant rebounding into dominant production. He might be the best rebounder in basketball, and he's starting to play more aggressively on offense.

Over the last four games, Drummond is averaging 19.5 points, 16.8 rebounds, 2.8 steals, and 1.8 blocks. Per-36 over that span is 26 points, 22.1 rebounds, 3.7 steals, and 2.3 blocks. All this while leading the league in field goal percentage by a huge margin.

After one particularly dominant stretch tonight, Jalen Rose tweeted this:

He finishes up with 24 and 19. These last few games have been pretty staggering from a kid who can't drink legally until next August.

Drummond is just 20 and isn't supposed to be progressig this quickly, it's going to be awesome watching his game grow more and more. All-star this year!

Yeah - I read a Thunder blog where they think it is an NBA record for most straight makes to start a career, breaking Jon Sundvold's 25-25. But I haven't seen anything that makes it official (and Kelly Olynyk is now 17-17).

Bummer. Drummond gets in foul trouble with Noah flopping around like a salmon. Finishes with 8 and 14 on 4-11 shooting. Should really be 8 and 11 on 4-7 shooting. He batted at an offensive rebound a few times before controlling it and laying it in. They gave him four offensive rebounds and four missed shots. He never really had a controlled tip - he was sort of keeping it alive until he had control. Helps the rebound average, hurts the FG percentage.

The old Moses Malone school of rebounding?

Yeah - that's who I thought of! Right away. Although Moses used to like to control the ball, then throw it up there and just use the rebound to get closer to the rim. This was one where Drummond was in a crowd and just sort of flailed at it a few times until he got underneath it. And actually, I think Monroe missed and then Drummond got the last one and hit a jump hook.

It looked like he was going to do nothing all day, with the Bulls really working hard to keep him from getting involved, but he still had a near double-double. Down side is that Detroit actually posted him up twice (including first possession of the night) and he looked pretty bad. Hinrich doubled down and stripped him pretty easy one time, and then he threw up an anvil after someone reached in and threw him off rhythm. But at least Detroit gave him a chance.

The pistons are 4-0 in December, shooting much better from behind the arc than previously. Drummond has broken into the league top twelve in PER, with season averages of 13/13; despite a usage% lower than anybody in the top 25. I like Jennings and KCP/Stuckeys development, but still think Detroit needs more consistent shooting. They need to flip Monroe so smith can naturally play next to dre, move singler in as a starter. Just look at the teams shot chart(red is bad, green is good):

Drummond gives kind of a blah effort against Miami - still gets 19 and 14. Ray went to the archives and came up with 18 in 23 minutes. Had a three rattle out for 21. Lamb barely got to play in first half vs Indiana but hit a three as Thunder are up 19. Indy is at the end of a long road trip.

We have a Ben Gordon sighting. 12 tonight so far - just hit a big 3 to put Cats up 7 against GSW (after two straight steals). Kemba had 12 in the third quarter and has 16 for the game. Adrien did a good job on the boards although he had a putback somehow rattle out that I don't see how it missed without gremlins.

Kemba just dropped a 3 in Curry's grill as the shot clock was winding down, then just hit a fadeaway on the next trip

edit: another jumper, Kemba's cooking

Whew. Games like that are why NBA League Pass are worth every penny. Kemba with 31-5-5 and maybe the best half of basketball in his career (27 in second half on 9-13 shooting). Only small blemishes were that he missed a couple FTs late and lost Curry once late - although he had to chase Curry around all over the place (Curry didn't cover him at the other end). Curry had 43 but took 32 shots to get them.

As long as Curry stays healthy he'll become known as the greatest 3 point shooter ever, even if he doesn't pass Ray's record. He just makes crazy ones all the time.

Very entertaining game.

Just read that OKC has Lamb on the trading block, looking for a more veteran presence off the bench. Could be bunk - but hard not to see the logic for OKC if that's the case and your bench is Jackson-Lamb-Jones-Adams plus whatever they get out of Fisher. I think Lamb showed a certainly unflappability in the NCAA Tournament that would make him a valuable playoff weapon, but OKC might not be willing to find out.

Real GM forum seems to be suggesting Gerald Henderson for Lamb. Can't imagine that would happen, since Henderson doesn't give OKC shooting range and floor spacing. But if it did...

just read that thread, posters on there are saying the originator of the rumor is notorious for throwing bs trade rumors against the wall ala Vescey. while Brooks can annoy me with his rotations I would love to see Lamb stay with the Thunder and continue learning under Durant, plus it would be nice to see a Husky in a visible role on a contender.

Throwing lamb out there as bait so they can attach Perkins to him? Thunder are clicking, you would have to think presti isn't that dumb.

Sefolosha is out tonight at Atlanta with a sprained knee. The Thunder called up Andre Roberson from the D League and will start him, presumably to keep rotations in tact with Lamb being with the second unit until the end of halves (if he earns it). But it should mean more minutes for him.

Good to see him go back to how he was playing at the beginning of the year. Before his collision with Chandler, he was making another leap, and then...his stats went into the toilet for a while.
