Things are a little different in Poland, obviously. They're allowed to score in any of the six 10-foot baskets, but only get one point for the eight foot baskets. ;)

It looked like they had a few eight foot baskets against the wall for the little ballers and the ones that run the opposite direction seem pretty far back.
 
Was checking out a box score for Makurat and saw a familiar name, Nia Coffey, 2017 grad of Northwestern. So I looked her up and I discover she went to Bueckers' high school. She is no slouch, the 5th pick in the 2017 WNBA draft. What is nice about that is Makurat is getting great experience playing with elite level players. If she were to sign with UConn she would arrive better prepared than most any freshman.
Gotta wonder if Bueckers knows Coffey well enough to ask her about Makurat.

Makes very long range shots, off-hand layups, boxes out, gets rebounding position, handles pretty well..........all at 14! Get her sister and line this girl up for three years from now.

I can't do Hartley units but a web page said 184 cm is just under 6 feet and a half inch.

With one older sister already playing D1 basketball (Ola - at Liberty and now at Utah) and another likely choosing between UConn and going pro in Europe, I'm imagining the Polish version of the Samuelson sisters...

And she seems really defensively aggressive, too. If we can land Anna and she has a good experience/is a good fit, I would be curious to see if Geno is interested in pursuing her.

Her Instagram and some of the Polish language material spell her name “Ania”, while a majority of everything else spells it “Anna”.

In a video I saw, a coach pronounced it like Ahn-yah, not a traditional English Anna. Poor Andy Landers may never get it right.

Because it’s what’s used on her FIBA profile, I’m going to guess she’ll stick with “Anna” for basketball.

Rhetorical but why are we all subjected to Andy Landers and his lack of professionalism. I'm sure his staff can make some phonetic flash cards for him.
 
Makurat's Polish name is Ania. I think the Americanized version is Anna. I don't know which she prefers, but she likely responds to either.

oh I don't know, I think the vast consensus is that the BY wants her at UConn ASAP......................if she's put off by what she reads from us wackos then she is in for a rude awakening when the shouting in practice starts
